How many resources does the game use by itself. As you are using older hardware the game might require too many resources so when MediaMonkey uses some it interrupts the game. You could try to give MediaMonkey lower priority in the Task Manager, but I don't know how badly that will affect music playback for you.

Do you have any additional scripts especially the Last.fm one installed?

May it be Auto-DJ? My (fast) computer is slowing down for a few seconds when switching to next track and Auto-DJ is turn on.
