I run a back up sweep at shutdown everyday so it's safe. Although I lost about a month of playbacks a few years ago when I did not get into the habit of daily back up. Now I've everything automated so I don't have to fiddle with it. It even make a copy of MM.db before starting up MM to a cache folder in case something goes wrong like an OS crash.
Also, you might've noticed that I'm still using MM3. I never got around to migrating to MM4 because I've got a portable setup of MM3 with all the scripts I needed. And MM3 still has all the functions I needed so I guess I'll wait for mm5 whenever it matures.
