Same here... S8+ The equalizer wasn't available until the phone was upgraded to Oreo. It definitely attenuates the volume and seems to make the audio less crisp. I'd really like to use the equalizer and hopefully this will be fixed. Maybe they need to add a pre-amp feature. The bug report noted in the previous post states this was fixed, but I don't think it is or maybe the issue resurfaced.

NOTE: I'm using Bluetooth headphones.

I'm able to replicate this problem on the S7, but only when a headset isn't plugged in. Is that the case for you as well?

The equalizer doesn't enhance any frequency. If switched on the total volume is very much reduced.
