Thanks for the additional information re. your settings.

I was able to replicate the issue with an S5 mini with your artwork sync settings. It didn't occur with the default settings that I'd previously tested with because by default artwork is saved to /Music/albumart.jpg and when artwork is saved to the music directory Android doesn't scan those images. With your settings, though, artwork thumbnails are synced to the /MediaMonkey/artwork directory which is lacking the .nomedia file.

Ok, so the cause is something different. i am not able to fix it without log after fresh install - when .nomedia files are created (so if you have the opportunity to create such a log, please do). Thanks.

Options->Tagging-> "Sync all Artworks to folder" is deactivated.
In the Tagging options only "Copy artwork to file tags" is active. All other options are deactivated.

In Options -> Playlist are active: "Sync Playlist" and "use Unicode". All other options are deactivated.

Could you please have a look on your device profile in MMW? Could you please check Options->Tagging->Sync all Artworks to file folders ? What value do you have in the textbox? Default is albumart.jpg

Are there any another changes in your profile settings?

Could you please just start the MMA and send the log? I will have a look at the synchronization settings.

Thanks

Sorry currently I don't have the time to reset everything.

Could you please send a log from MMA right after new install and granting the permissions?

It is probably related to encryption of SD card on Samsung device. Access to files on encrypted SD card is very problematic and it cause many similar issues in other apps too. So please send me the log and I will have a look.

Yes the main problem is that the .nomedia isn't created.
I just wanted to point out that the .nomedia is created only on the first run and gets deleted when the artworks folder is removed and it isn't recreated again, too. Maybe that was the issue for the ticket creator.

Maybe it's easier for implementation to place the .nomedia on folder level up, then it works independent from the artworks folder

That would seem to be expected. The problem here is that the .nomedia isn't created when the Artwork folder (and Artworks are created).

I can confirm the issue. Last time I added the .nomedia manually and it get's removed by mma

Prerequisites:
- MMA 1.3.1.0722, MMW 4.1.17.1840 (portable)
- MMA was already synced
- SD card is encrypted (just for your information) and library is on SD card
- some artwork files are stored in SD\MediaMonkey\artwork
- SD\MediaMonkey\artwork\.nomedia as manually created/copied

Steps to reproduce:
1. Deselect all songs in MMW for syncing
2. Sync from MMW to MMA (this will delete all songs in MMA)
3. SD\MediaMonkey\artwork\.nomedia is still existing
4. open MMA and wait until library is updated
5. SD\MediaMonkey\artwork\.nomedia is deleted as the artwork folder is deleted, too.

Solution:
I created/copied now the file one level up into SD\MediaMonkey\.nomedia. Then it works, without problems.

There is not that much to say:
- installed MMA
- ran MMA
- Granted SD card access
- Synced with MMW via USB

.nomedia normally _is_ created by MMA during the sync process. Perhaps there was some sort of permissions problem--can you tell me the exact order in which you: installed mma, ran mma, synced (wi-fi / usb) ?

Thanks.

Yesterday I installed MMA on my girlfriends Samsung Galaxy S7 and synced with MMW.
Why do I have to create the .nomedia file in artworks folder myself?
I cannot imagine that someone wants his gallery to be spoiled with thousands of artwork images.
You are successfully transferring gigabytes of mp3s - it must be a nobrainer to create the file while syncing!?
