Grabbed the beta build and it is working. Thanks!

Yes it now works as intended, album art and meta data displays fine.

I'm sure someone mentioned that in an upcoming version we're going to get album title meta data displayed, this isn't showing as yet.

fyi, a beta build including this fix has been posted to the play store.

If you're not yet subscribed to the beta and are interested in testing this out see MediaMonkey for Android Test Builds.

Let us know how it works for you. Thanks!

Tested, I can replicate it with build 849, but not with build 850, so the fix from https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15544 solves both issues.
Will be available soon.

Yep, similar (though not the same) issue on LG G7 and Mazda CX9.

Can confirm that I have the same issue aswell. Instead of showing Meta Data it shows "collecting Playlistdata" Very strange :o

Using on a Honor Play

Yep I also have this behaviour too after the AA update.any idea when the fix for all these issues will be rolling out?

Sigh. Can confirm the same issue as of the most recent Androud Auto. In addition to the albumn artwork missing, there is no meta data displayed at all now (i.e. Track name Artist name, etc.)

Example of Behavior:

Image

Wasn't exactly sure when to grab logs for this since I dont know at which point in the process of loading the meta data for each track the bug lies. I did my best.

Logs:
AGHB1A39AI - Changing track after being in MMA for a bit with the app in focus on the head unit.

6QSCWN4A7Z- Just connected phone to car, quickly
brought MMA into focus on headunit and quickly started play, then changed track.

MMA - 1.3.4.0849
AA - 4.1.590944-release
Galaxy S7 Edge, Oreo 8.0.0

Just my(our) luck. Right before the beta update that fixes this issue is pushed, Google changes something in AA that breaks MMA futher...

I just downloaded the update tonight and will confirm of I have the same behavior in my car tomorrow. I'm guessing I will

Like many others, I have been dealing with the missing album art from the music screen when using MediaMonkey and Android Auto. However, upon installing today's Android Auto update, the problem has become worse. Instead of the music screen having a black background with the artist and song title as others have shown in their pictures, now there is just the black background without any information. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Hi,
Not sure what you are talking about, one that I have sent to you have various number of CanBus decoders so you get all the features and even more in device see for example I installed Toyota RAV4 version Tesla style headunit like this one https://www.dvdgpsnav.com/blog/category/toyota/ the only thing is to check 10 times right canbus and you will get all the info. Once I needed to pay additional 50 USD to get right Canbus, but they eventually sent me TPMS in return on next order as they were wrong in canbus decision.

The headunit in my car also reads additional information from the car like error codes and oil level, and is also how you configure a lot of the behavioral settings like how long you want the interior lights to stay on after opening the doors and how you want the unlock request buttons on the doors to function. There are two companies that make headunits specifically for it that can actually read/write these settings but they're interface looks like a design style from ththe mid 2000s and I dont think theres a custom ROM for it.

I appreciate the information and I'll see if maybe there's something that could work, but I'm most likely stuck with the stock headunit. It's really not at all bad, just annoys me that it runs AA from my phone and not on the headunit itself.
