I know it's probably not what you want, but here is one solution, to turn the m4a into mp3.

Can't play m4a files

Hi,
I installed the MediaMonkey Win8 app today but I can't play m4a files.
The m4a files are created in Itunes (imported CDs).
The m4a files are displayed correct will all meta data but when I press play, the track name disappear and the file is not played.
I have QuickTime installed on the PC and there can I play m4a files.
