Having the same issue. It is already far superior to the music app offered by MS, but cleaning up my 10k files, duplicates, etc is an ongoing project and need a way to re-sync and clear the dead links without reinstalling the app each time.

Windows 8 comes with some sample music (e.g. tracks from Ninja Tuna, Bob Acri). This was included in my library, but now I've deleted the tracks and the folders (held on my WHS 2011 server). They have already been deleted from the Windows 8 machines locally (the sample music was held in C:\Users\Public\Public Music\Sample Music).

However, the entries for the Albums and the Artists are still present in mm8. I have rescanned the folders, but the entries won't go away.

This is with version 1.0.2.37 of mm8, and is occurring on both Windows 8 machines that I have mm8 installed on. One runs Windows 8 Pro 64bit, the other Windows 8 Pro 32bit.
