Hi,
Device profile settings are in MM.DB, try to backup MM.DB and Delete all the profiles accept one and see if that changes anything.

You can also try to export Profile on other PC -> Delete on non showing and Import New one from backup.

So, did a backup of MM by manually copying data and using the backup script.

Uninstalled and deleted any remnant files, including in the App Data file.

Reinstalled latest version of MM. "Clean install" visible to android device.

Copied INI and DB files back. All files & playlists visible but no longer visible to Android.

What setting is preventing this???

Restarted both - no change.

If you want to do a clean installation of MMA without ghost tracks, you have to follow this steps:
1)Uninstall MMA
2)Delete "MediaMonkey" folder from a root of each storage
3)Install MMA
EDIT:

Updated to 4.1.22.1876

MM still not visible to Android device.
Fresh install of MMon another Windows system (same network - both via ethernet) is detected and connects immediately.

Sounds like I need to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of MM on the "main" system. How do I ensure all my files (especially Playlists) are backed up?

Updated Windows MM to 4.1.21.1870 per above.

Still cannot find server. Verified MM Windows can see other media servers (UPnP).

Fresh install on brand new S9 cannot find MM server.

Log from S9: UBFAHJ8V3U

You sure MMW is 4.1.22, it's a beta so it won't show in the update check.
It's 4.1.20.1864

Peke wrote: Wed Sep 05, 2018 4:42 pm Hi,
Are you using 4.1.22.1876?

Can you please try to init sync in MMA so that MMA search for server and then start MMW?
Confirmed MM for Windows and Android all are latest versions.

If i initiate "Select Sync server" on Android device and then start MM on Windows it still does not find it.

Confirmed network connectivity - Android device can see Plex and other UPnP servers.

Did you try some other UPnP server(e.g WMP) and BubbleUPnP on phone to exclude network issues?

Re interface - we are working on brand new UI to version 2.0.

We are sorry about issues, but it isn't a standard situation. From your log I can see that android system has no parsed media in its library, so I guess that you will not see media also in other media players (except apps with own tag parser). Can you try "Music Google Play" whether there are tracks visible?
If we don't have a possibility to get track metadata from system media library, neither WifiSync then remains to repeat USB sync.
Did you try USB sync with a connected phone over MTP?
Thank you for all your help.

I originally tried everything via USB, which led me to trying WiFi at your request.

I could see other UPnP servers on the phone (Plex, etc.).

How do I get a "clean" install of MM on the S9, without all the ghost tracks, etc.?

Update: I received my new S9 Note today. Clean install of MM and it also cannot see the MM server on the PC via WiFi.

martin.bohac wrote: Tue Sep 04, 2018 3:01 pm At first, send me your LOG to have your state before sync.
The best way to sync your content with MMW is Wifi Sync("Sync Now"->select MMW server->select SD card-> select content via "Auto-sync server content" in Sync settings). Can you use that?
Cannot Sync via WiFi.
  • Phone cannot find server or UPNP device.
    Verified both on same network.
    Windows Firewall disabled.
network type on PC is private.
Verified they are in the same IP subnet.
Even after formatting an entirely new SDCard, uninstalling and reinstalling MM on the S9 I STILL see all the old grayed out tracks. Even after removing the SDCard the "ghost" tracks are all still there.

Do you have to set everything up on a brand new phone, SD card and PC all at once?

I've been involved in IT/hardware for 25+ years and this ranks in the Top 10 for horrible interface, non-intuitiveness and plain "just doesn't work".
