the songs when added in to mediamonkey are placed in his database.
he will need correct tags as lowlander said.
because monkey will use the info in the tags to manage / organize your library folder/s.
he uses the info in the database to search through the library so he is faster then all others and can handle un heard of amounts of songs which others only dream they can handle.
but in doing this his database file gets huge. so make sure you have enough space for song storage and the ever growing database file, well it stops when you stop adding songs in to it. so it is not forever growing.
