MM4 key import issue will be fixed in next build.

The exact case for me is that I need to run Locate Missing/Moved Files which crashed in 2164, but the activation issue remains the same.

I you are only wanting to change an existing collection, have you tried the right click menu option in the Media Tree. That path still works for me in 2166, but the path via Tools|Options|Library|MediaTree is broken atm.

As a workaround, if you wanted to create a new node, perhaps you could use the right click menu option to change one of the existing nodes to what you want?

Can also confirm that 2166 is refusing 4.x keys. Clean install; activation failed even after import from activated 2164 DB. Attempted to backup clean DB and replace through file explorer as well. No change.

[UPDATE] ... it looks to be a new problem introduced with 2166

I can still edit collections via right click menu on the Media Tree.

But 2166 no longer allows me to edit them using the Edit (pencil) icon at Tools|Options|Library|MediaTree. I get the "Collections can only be edited with Gold" dbox.

nb: I did a portable install

OK, but fyi I did a clean install, and accepted offer to import data from mm4 db.
All other times it has registered me as gold ... this time it didn't.

Probably related to 15274. License was automatically used during alpha stage, but now in beta stage it is imported only on clean install and when user choose 'import database and settings from MM4'. Anyhow you can still use your MM4 key to activate MM5 gold features.

There seems to be a behaviour change with 2166. Prior releases of MM5 auto-detected that I had MM4 Gold, and granted me gold rights with MM5 beta.
This did not happen with 2166.

If you have a MediaMonkey 3/4 Gold license, Gold functionality will be active until MediaMonkey 5 licenses are made available for sale.
