Hi,
No it means that UNC paths Will be excluded from Auto Delete due the fact that nonavailability is temporary and you can do the cleaning in Files to Edit -> Dead links. Same applies for external HDDs, but Local HDDs and Mapped Drives (if windows confirms drive existence, and it mostly do even connection is not available) MMW will Auto Remove non available tracks.

Hi, thanks.

I am using drive mapped letters.
So, in order to be sure I understand it right, you mean that MM5 will know that if the tracks are pointing to an unavailable UNC path, then it will perform no database update?

Hi,
Are you using Mapped drive letters or UNC path?

Mapped drive letters are handled like local drive and if you have Auto Remove on local drive then they will be removed, UNC paths (starting with \\) are handled as network paths where it is known that they can be unavailable occasionally?

How "Remove unavailable items" works?

Please, could you explain how "Remove unavailable items" works?

In Tools > Options menu, there is an option under Library, for the automatic removable of items not found in the data base. I have set "Add/Rescan files" in "Automatic & continuously" mode. so, if for some reason my NAS drive becomes unavailable when I start Mediamonkey, will the option "Remove unavailable items" erase my entire data base?

Is there a way to inhibit the removable items if the connection to the remote drive is unavailable, and make it work only when the connection is established.

Many thanks.
