Thanks, that was it exactly. I saw Chromecast had been denied -- once I enabled that checkbox I was able to cast any file I tried.

I guess that still leaves my original wish open but I understand (more or less) the unlikelihood of the solution. Thanks for all your help, I still think MM is the best music software I've come across.

That's strange, that is working well here.

1) Are MMW, MMA and Chromecast part of the same Wi-Fi network?
2) Are the file formats supported by the Chromecast? i.e. could you try on an MP3 file at first?
3)Maybe MMW server isn't configured to accept the connection from Chromecast, go to MMW > Options > Media Sharing, double-click the server ('Media Monkey Library' by default) and go to 'Server' tab'. There should be list of all connections and whether the connections were denied or accepted.

if you see 'Denied' there then go to the UPnP/DLNA tab and enable device(s) there.

Yes sorry by PNP I meant the UPnP option in MMA, where I then select my MMW server I had previously set up. When I do connect this way, I am able to play songs via my phone's speakers, but nothing seems to happen when then I try to Chromecast the same audio to my TV (no sound plays, no playback time elapses, no error messages pop up).

Regarding just the sound aspect though, I have had some issues here as well. I found I wasn't able to both play from PnP and then cast from there, which is understandable from a wireless resource perspective I guess. As an alternative, I was hoping to just sync a few songs to my phone so that I could cast without PnP, but I wasn't sure how to sync a small selection of songs rather than have to sync my entire music library to my phone. Is this possible?
What do you mean by PnP? Do you mean selecting MMW server (MediaMonkey for Windows) in MMA (Mediamonkey for Andorid) > UPnP ? Are you referring the fact that you can cast only to a single player via MMA ?

You can sync a subset of songs just by either selecting the subset on the sync-list like this:

Or select some items > right-click > Send to > Device like this:

Thanks. Bummer to hear the the perfect solution sounds so involved. I would still love to cast MilkDrop type visualizations to my 4K HDR TV one day, as I think that would look amazing.

I did actually try the 'Cast Desktop' which ALMOST works, however the shared sound to the TV came in extremely quiet for some reason. I tried searching for a solution to that problem but that problem seems very common without an apparent solution.

Yes I do have MM for Android, but my question was more focused on wanting to cast visualizations to my TV (in addition to sound).

I guess that having visualization on Chromecast (like MilkDrop) is not possible until we have own application for Chromecast (which we are not planning atm).
But maybe you could workaround it by screen mirroring of your PC to Chromecast?
i.e. in Chrome browser click the cast icon and in the Sources dropdown select 'Cast desktop'

Having mobile control (Android App) would be especially amazing so I don't have to run back and forth to the control PC.
Did you try MediaMonkey for Android? It can cast to all Chromecast devices.

Was very excited to see the casting options in MM5 Beta, especially the multicast. What I was hoping for is that both music and animated visualization (like MilkDrop) would at least cast to my TV, and it would be nice to also add the current PC (Internal Device) as well. When I tried this, starting with TV Chromecast Ultra only, the animated visualization didn't seem to make it to the TV cast, but only showed album and artist info (and a ghost window that looks was the result of a failed load). I then added the Internal Device and saw the visualization on my desktop PC only. After trying to turn a few combinations off/on, MM5 Beta crashed and seems to not be able to reboot either (will try a restart).

In short: would love to cast music and visualizations to my TV, and it would be amazing to multicast both the audio and visual. Having mobile control (Android App) would be especially amazing so I don't have to run back and forth to the control PC.
