It looks like there are some adjustments for playback devices i think its more in the codecs where that would be needed by mediamonkey,

What would MM have to do in order to support this? From what I read at the site, it seems this spec is for mastering, not playback.

Thanks a lot GreyChaos for submitting this. This is what I have been waiting for the last 15 years, since the Loudness War began.

Now the compressed music won't sound louder only worse, than proper recorded music, thanks god for that :D

It would be great, if this standard were introduced in MediaMonkey.

Another one for this feature being added.
Since now mm handles video it will be used more in the youtube videos which we all play, so this would be a huge benefit to mediamonkey.

Recently there have been some developments regarding Loudness Normalization in the professional audio industry. An official system of measuring loudness has been agreed upon and will start being enforced in TV and Radio stations. This standardization is known as EBU Recommendation 128 (R128). It is more advanced than replay gain.

Here is an introduction:

Presentation:

And official website:
http://tech.ebu.ch/loudness

It would be great if MediaMonkey could add an option for using this system for loudness normalization, in the future professional Music/TV/Radio industry content will be produced in accordance to this recommendation and it would be ideal to have this system in place for media players as well!

Namaste ~
