Correct, that is not available. If files are synced to a particular device can be seen through the AutoPlaylist method as you described.

Are you sure that AutoPlaylist wasn't selected to be synced in the Device Profile?
Not knowing what I was doing to effectively use this tool, I right-clicked the playlist folder that I'm synching to the device to make a New Autoplaylist, which created the new playlist as a sub of the main playlist I used for syncing to the device. The list was populated with the delta, apparently, which then began to sync on the next Auto Sync. Ignorance and a sharp knife are a bad pair.

So am I correct that there is no effective sync status summary available, equivalent to the rescan library popup? Does anyone else have a gripe about this?

(Substituting for Christmas and Two Front Teeth)

I know from reading much of the forum discussion that the offered solution for a sync status is to use the Autoplaylist > Advanced > Synchronization Status filter. This is a sharp knife, and best I can tell not even what I'm looking for. You know how when you refresh the MM database (Add/Refresh Folder, aka hit the INS key) you get a lovely "Scan results" popup with really useful information including how many tracks were added, and any tracks not added due to whatever errors, and with a Save log button? Funny how this type of popup doesn't make any sense when doing a sync to a device.

Currently, when you mash the Autosync button on the device page you get a single line status message (in a non-adjustable height pane - is this a bug?) that says Synchronizing xxx: (Preparing list of files) for several minutes. Meanwhile you go get a beer and you come back and there's no status message anymore, and no indication of success or failure. While I was away preparing space for the beer MM transferred the 10 new tracks of the album I had just added to the main playlist that I'm using for syncing to the device.

Device sync is notorious for failure on every computer/software ever made. Could be a poor quality cable, poor software on the target device, some event on the host computer, etc. (notice that I didn't suggest MM bugs). Without a status summary popup AND an (optional) sync log, then there is no good, simple way of telling if I should unplug and run, or start solving problems. Maybe it aborted for one of the above reasons. To be safe, I guess I'll just repeat the sync and keep my eyeballs glued to that 1 line status pane.

With regard to Autoplaylist > Advanced > Synchronization Status, I clearly don't know how to use this sharp knife. On a couple tries I managed to make a list of every track in my main music library that is purposely NOT synced to the device, and then on the next sync MM proceeded to start copying all of those purposely missing tracks ONTO the device. Abort. Go get a backup of the database from a couple weeks back, and put away the sharp knife.

Is anyone else irritated by the lack of a basic Sync Status popup (and optional sync log file), and puzzled by how to effectively use Synchronization Status to accomplish this basic task? I know there is a popup for tracks failing to sync in some cases, but no popup that says success? Argh!!

BTW, I'm a Gold Lifetime subscriber, and a long time, generally happy user with about 7k music tracks that I have rightful license to. I'm running MM v 4.1.14.1813. I appologize if this topic has been thoroughly worked over in other posts. Searching this forum for "sync status" returns 150+ hits and I did not read more than the first few pages.
