Actually i cannot. I added it, but it gets checked nonetheless. Or do i have to exclude a file with another name?

if your anti-virus is constantly checking this file, you may be able to add it to the 'exclusion' list to help performance.

I would expect it depends on how fast the hard drive is and/or the amount of changes that need to be written.

I believe that the default 'robustness' was changed to a slightly slower (but more secure) mode, probably to help prevent problems with the 'database image is malformed' errors that could happen if windows or MM crashed.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ist it possible then, that reading from and writing to the journal takes a lot of time? Whenever i change something it takes some seconds till MM reacts. I'm using the recent beta 1.

it is the 'journal' used by the sqlite db engine to control what has been commited/un-commited to the database.

basically it is the sequence of operations that the database must do, if for some reason mm or windows crashes, it can look at the journal to see what was/was not commited to the database.

What exactly is mm.db-journal? Whenever i change something in the tags of my tracks the file gets scanned by my virus-shield.
