I do not understand why "STOP" in there services window would not shutdown correctly (saving off data etc). The STOP *should* do the standard process that starting MMW would do. It has been a very long time since I wrote a service so it could have changed drastically knowing MS. I also don't understand why tabs would change at all from the service. The service does not access UI elements (or shouldn't ?).
As for the ' .. by locking Service to different account .. '. I installed the service with the same user/pass as I use every time i start windows and then MMW. SO it is the same user/account.
Again .. nothing has changed on my system except MMW upgrade to 1738 and window updates.
Is there a way to get a log of what the service sees? What user is starting it, requests to shutdown etc? Would something like that help to see what is causing it to keep the locks?
