I am sorry that I have to give this update information, but the actual beta of the MediaMonkey (3.1.0.1215) have still the same problems with video artworks on the iPod, what means after rebuilding the database, all videos get randomly chosen music covers instead of the video thumbnail :(

it works? Everything? You are even able to read PDFs and add appointments directly on your iPod also? :wink:
I (still) like Apples gadgets, but they have problems as well - if you never make updates, you'll keep the old issues, if you make updates you get new "features"...

However, the issue, that the MM randomizes the video thumbnails on the classic have been given from the first available iPod/iTunes version on and is still present!

I have a 160GB iPod and it works great. It has iTunes 7.6x installed. First, NEVER update iTunes / the iPod's firmware when prompted. Second, uninstall iTunes from your computer. From what I understand, once you update to Version 8.x Apple has a new and improved "stranglehold" on the rightful use of your iPod. If necessary, find a site that has older versions of iTunes for download and get back to Version 7.6 ... and NEVER upgrade. Apparently the emphasis on the "Touch" iPods has caused Apple to change the operation of the iPod to where it even screws up a Classic iPod working with many car adapters, and even some docking systems like Bose. I actually bought an extra 160GB iPod given this direction, and the fact that it was discontinued ... with the marketing emphasis now being on the smaller 16GB portable players.

Not initially, no. However, I did populate the AlbumArtist tag with the Artist tag and everything looks like it syncs correctly on the iPod. However, when I go to play any of the songs I have synced, the iPod freezes and then reboots.

Do you have 'filled' both tags Artist and AlbumArtist?

However, put on songs using itunes, and the audiobooks (MP3) with MM. That is pure genius, thanks. So much better than itunes.

For those who do books, the Classic ipod has a speial part for books, and you can bookmark them. However, itunes only recognises books bought from them (.mb4 or such) MM goes a step further.

Also MM puts up the cover flow art better for me.

edit: I have 14000 songs, and really Need MM to compress them on the fly to 128, as many are CD quality, so they no longer fit on the 80gb classic.

First question: None, just type '*.mp4'. Of course if you have mp4 audio files, you're screwed.

About the second question, if you modify the tags on your computer or hard-drive, you can sync your iPod and only the modified tracks will sync, MM should ignore the rest of the tracks. I can't remember if that's the default behavior or not.

I tried that but still MM renames the videos with their filename (FGQZ, ABCD etc.) and the "covers" are missing. Excluding them in device options doesn't seem to have any effect. But maybe I put something wrong in the excluding field. How to seperate two terms there?

Jiri posted a workaround for this problem, it does work: Click on your device options>Auto-Sync Options tab>Delete tracks that aren't on the Auto-Sync ...> Exclude folders> type *.mp4

I'm also having problems using MM and iTunes at the same time. When I transfer videos with iTunes and then rebuild the device database in MM it messes up the video filenames.

Is there any workaround or solution to this problem? Is it possible to let MM for instance ignore all mp4 files so it doesn't affect them?
