Unfortunately this isn't true since some months (years?) you have to use iTunes to update the firmware. Altough you can use MM for synching. I also have an ipod and only use iTunes for firmwareupdates.

MM3.0 doesn't update the ipod software, but it does let you sync your ipod. Usually the ipod updates can be found on apple's website without the need for itunes.

Hi:

I have a huge library that I would like to share between iTunes and MM3. Could someone guide on how to go about to do this optimally -- I mean without duplicating tracks, library locations etc?
