you could always try to use the fake file bit. make a notepad text file for the name of the song and use them as .wav files
they might then be able to have info stored in monkeys database for the songs on vinyl, but you could also just get a usb turntable and use it. they come with software for recording the records to the computer then you won't have to play the record any more after you get them in the computer.
but that is a big task to take on.
and you need to have lots of hard drive storage room or more then 3 or 4 huge 400 gb sized hard drives.
depending on how many records you have is how many hard drives you need. also what file format you save them
in will matter too.

:D

You'd have to rip the vinyl into a digital format, then MM could organize/handle/play the files.

It's all fixed. I uninstalled and re-installed and that did the trick. It appears the database did not "fully" upgrade initially and I figured it would be best to try the simplest fix first. Thankfully, it worked.

Thanks for the help.

I wonder if the database failed to upgrade? You could try File > Maintain Library with the complete database optimization option selected.

This is a repost after logging in to the forum...

I've been using the product with great success since April, but since upgrading to version 3.1.0.1256 yesterday I cannot rip discs into my database without getting a SQL error after every track. In fact, every function I try to use results in a pop up SQL error. I have tried re-installing the update but I have not uninstalled and re-installed yet.

I do not write code and am not a computer programmer, but I am not a novice using computers by any means. I cannot find a way to paste the error code here so I will copy it the way it appears on the screen:

There was a problem querying the database:
Error executing SQL "SELECT Songs.Id
FROM songs WHERE songs.PlayCounter>0 ORDER BY songs.LastTimePlayed DEAC AND Songs.ID=?
": near "AND": syntax error (1, 1)

Can anyone offer some advice? I am finally organizing an enormous physical collection of CDs and vinyl and the first 4,000 albums have gone beautifully up to this point. I really love the software package and will continue to use it to tag and catalog everything, but if I can't find an answer to this problem with the upgrade, I will be forced to use a different ripping method.

The weird thing is that in the entire time I've used MM I had yet to get a single error message, which leads me to believe this is a simple setting somewhere that has been changed through the upgrade process.

Thanks in advance...
