Very clever Dale!

It should be possible to create a graph that shows the beat throughout a track. Since much music (esp Classical) changes during the track it could leave us humans to choose a setting from the graph, perhaps aided by coloured bands for each Tempo (Fast, Quite Fast, etc).. Just a crazy thought . .

Those clever dudes who create the moving images that change to the beat probably already have the code cut to do it!

Cheers,

JK

JK, I'll assume you meant BPM ;)

alot of people user mixmeisters bpm analyzer which is free:
http://www.download.com/MixMeister-BPM- ... 90907.html

it works pretty well.. but if you have music that has different speed intros or other things that could throw it off them you may need to use something more manual.. I also find that the BPM analyzer tends to end up with all it's values fairly similar (eg... one song might be said to be 120 bpm and another which is noticeably a slower sound will be marked as 140 when I would prefer to count slow and have it marked as 70 - it's not inacurate.. I just find it not useful like that)....

I created this script for manually tapping out the beat to set the BPM if that suits you better:

(it's also in my signature)

Is it possible for MM to help determine and tag the average BBM of each of the tracks in the library??

Your not wrong. I'd kill for this.

Well, maybe not kill, but I'd slap someone around if it would help. :P

I'm sure some users would want all of the classifications to be allowed as columns.

Tempo to be a selectable column for list displays

A user has stated that they have to put their Tempo data into a Custom field in order to display it in lists. It therefore makes good sense to allow the actual Tempo field to be available for selection as a column.
