You could try manually installing the script. Rename the .mmip to .zip and then extract the files (excluding the .ini files) into the "Scripts" folder. Then open "AdvancedReport.vbs" in a text editor and there's a comment section at the top, copy the relevant section into the "Scripts.ini" file. Then when you start MM hopefully in will appear in the "File" menu and run successfully.

Hi Trix, sorry, not familiar with a debug log. Understand that v4 beta is coming soon, maybe I should wait. Pitty, cause I love your advanced report script and use it for my websites (see www.kievit.nl), but info is terribly outdated plus I want to make a special one with my boots. Is ther another way to install? Copy/paste the script(s)?

Sounds very odd, running MM as administrator should fix this. If not, have you tried creating a debug log?

When I try to install Advanced Report 5.8 script (or Custom Report 2.4 or Monkey Rok 5.4 for that matter) from Trixmoto (fantastic reoports) I get a message "Error at installation". I have administrator rights as a user. Still tried to run MediaMonkey "as administrator", doesn't work in my Windows 7 Ultimate, MM simply hangs. Tried to register scripts in mcd mode, vb works, not the others. Any suggestion anyone?

might be missing some file.

are you using windows update site. or microsoft update site?

if windows. then go there and click the link in the left frame for the microsoft update site and use it, also use the custom buttons they show you all the needed stuff on your system not just the security stuff.

also two weeks ago directx was updated. look for that new update too while at microsoft.com/downloads or at majorgeeks.com they had a link to it too.

Sounds like your "Windows Script Host" is not installed properly - try searching the microsoft site for help on this specific to Windows 7.

Script Error

by Uziel » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:17 pm

I have searched the forums for this error and done what was suggested to no avail. I registered the dll and tried running it under admin, but I keep getting the error "A script engine for the specified language can not be created." I am using Windows 7.

This error appears for Music IP Tagger, Album Art Tagger, and MusicBrainz.... can someone help?

Thank you!
