Ah nevermind. Just switched it around (trying to figure it out on my phone instead of with MM) and finally downloaded a different music player simply called: "Android Music Player" from the Play Store. It loads the playlist list and playlists in maybe less than a second. Not as many options as the stock music player but it ACTUALLY works.

I have the same problem when loading playlists onto my Galaxy S3 from Media monkey. It's been like that ever since I started doing it. It loads the playlist list extremely slowly and then loads the playlists themselves even more slowly. Seriously like 14 seconds to load playlist list and 32 seconds to load an individual playlist (where I can select a track. Everything else on the phone works extremely fast but the music player is messed up. Either that or it's something to do with MM and from the looks of it (the people that are having this same problem), it's something to do with MM.

I've tried using different types of playlists but that didn't work. Updated to latest version of MM and that was even worse because it wouldn't send the playlists at all. Had to downgrade to get them back (wth??).

I know MM worked perfectly well with my Galaxy S2 though so I'm not sure what's going on. I thought I would get used to it over the months but it's just getting more frustrating waiting forever to play my music. Hopefully someone with similar problems will be able to figure it out and help all of us soon. I'll keep trying to figure it out as well.

I have the same problem but I don't use media monkey for my playlists...I made mine manually. The songs are on my sd card and not the internal memory. It might be because I have too many songs but this isn't a problem on other music players and It loaded pretty fast when I used the same music player on my droid charge.

It sounds like the music player app is just slow to load the playlists, I doubt it's anything to do with MM.

Maybe try a different music player app.

I'm using MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 to sync music and playlists to my Galaxy S3 (ICS 4.0.4). I'm syncing to the phone's 32GB memory and not the SD card. Everything works great and I have all my songs and playlists.

However, when the Music Player app is on the "Playlists" tab it takes a long time to render the list of available playlists and the phone is temporarily locked up. This happens when the orientation changes and when I try to swipe up and down to scroll through the available. It doesn't happen when I'm viewing the All, Albums, or Artists tabs.

It may be a bug in ICS, but I'm wondering if it could also be my sync options in MediaMonkey.

In MediaMonkey the device is using d_WMDM.dll. Device -> Options -> Playlist has:
"Sync playlists" is checked.
"Library playlists" is checked.
Destination Directory: \Playlists\
"Force relative paths" is checked.
"Use extended M3U" is checked.
"Use Linux folder separator" is checked.
Other options are not checked.
