How does MM5 deal with these if you don't do any processing outside of MM5 first?
That's where Mp3tag can reveal a lot of otherwise hidden tags. HDtracks and Qobuz tracks can have different tags depending on the album. There isn't really a tagging standard. You have to create your own standard so tracks are uniform across your music library.

By the way. I don't think PMEDIA is legal.

That is some heavy reading there!

Yes, that's different. You get that menu when you install dBpoweramp.

For most users there would be no need to edit outside of MediaMonkey, it just adds a layer of unnecessary complexity. Some will need to use other taggers for unsupported apps or specific tools they provide, but a lot of the tagging can be done in MediaMonkey, like correcting the Artist tag in the OP case.

I wonder what Tags MP3Tag edit that MM do not see in extended tags? I am referring to FLAC files like in your post.
TheEmpathicEar wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 5:02 pm What's the difference between the above and DBPowerAMP's "Edit ID Tags" in Windows Explorer
One big difference is that Windows Explorer Tag editor should not be trusted, it was proved in past that it is capable to corrupt file formats especially FLAC when it added ID3v2.x tags on start of file which is not allowed in FLAC files.

What's the difference between the above and DBPowerAMP's "Edit ID Tags" in Windows Explorer

TheEmpathicEar wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:27 pm @Lowlander I did the first part of your post above. But, after this I simply did a Scan/Rescan and everything seems fine. "Guns N' Roses" in the tags and in the folder under "My Music". It would seem I did something different. I never used "Organize Files"?
EDIT: Ah, I used Windows Explorer and "Edit ID Tags" from DBPowerAMP to change all the tags. I outsmarted myself
Yes, you can use dBpoweramp to edit your tags. Mp3tag is another great tagger.
The question is which method is better? MM5 is supposed to [almost] do everything?

Lowlander wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:17 pm Yes, edit the tags and Organize Files can do the job.
I think I am starting to understand. I don't need/want to use copy because all the tags are going to be "correct". So, after changing Artist name everywhere, the move will do the rest of the work?

https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... nize_Files has an entry/option for DESTINATION? "<Album Artist>\[<Year>] <Album>\<Track #:2> - <Title>" is mine w/o "'s.
I am a bit confused. There seem to be two options at the top of the image that @Lowlander posted above?
I want to move the "stuff" with "Guns N Roses" to "Guns N' Roses. The simpler here the better.
EDIT: @Lowlander Where you suggesting the use of Windows Explorer to change tags or to use MM?
