Thank You. No wonder I couldn't find an Importer.

You can import exported Playlists by scanning them.

This is great but how do you restore your playlists from a backup. I use the export playlists option in MM for for the life of me cannot find the restore command.

By default MediaMonkey uses the primary/default audio device, so whatever Windows is set to use is used by MediaMonkey. Users can choose a different audio device at which point MediaMonkey will use it, even if Windows is set to use a different device.

Found the well hidden super secret solution....

File>Manage Database> Reset Settings
Then restore your playlists from a backup to return to a functional Media Monkey

Now, why does Media Monkey disable the ability to use speakers attached to the audio out plug of the computer?

No friggin clue but the "reset settings" restores the function when nothing else works.

You may have set the wrong Audio Device. Video uses an independent setting for this.

I did some more troubleshooting...
I've come to the conclusion that the "internal player" is glitched like crazy.
Why? Dig this:
Sound works fine in the internal player when playing a video file.
Sound works fine if I broadcast the sound from a music file to a Google Speaker instead of internal player.

All sound files and music files work fine on VLC.
Media monkey on my other computer works fine.

Reloaded Media Monkey again. No joy.

Can I save the database if I "uninstall" media monkey and try reinstalling again?

There should be some way to reset the internal player module or replace glitched dll files used by the internal player.

Mediamonkey needs a "clean install" function and a "backup database" function.

Please see: No Sound is Playing / Sound is Corrupted

It may be a volume level issue, which is either in MediaMonkey or Windows.

Mediamonkey 2024 stopped outputting sound.
> Rebooted and my mediamonkey no longer will output sound.
> Checked help files and tried suggested items in Tools>Options - no positive result... configured the same as the laptop which DOES work fine.
? Songs appear to play and the cursor moves but no sound comes out.
> copied songs from mediamonkey database
>> filed copied to hdd plays fine with VLC and Windows Media Player
>> songs in mediamonkey directory accessed with file explorer play fine with VLC
>> Playing a song to mediamonkey from a usb drive fails to output sound but plays fine with VLC
> Reinstalled Mediamonkey 2024 from a fresh download. Still no sound output.

Anyone know a way to reset Mediamonkey to defaults other than completely erasing Mediamonkey from my computer and restarting the database all over again?

.. I'm at a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot point,
I hope there is something besides filming a viral video of taking a battle axe to a computer left for me to do.
