Continuous will do this when MediaMonkey is running, startup scan will do an auto-scan if MediaMonkey was closed.

Ok, I know it. Probably This is the only way to update the MM library. I thought that when I added a new track or folder, MM would simply add it without having to rescan each time. Thank you for your help and kindness.

Under File > Add/Rescan Files you can add folders to be monitored. Continuous monitoring will pick up changes while MediaMonkey is running.

Hi, I tried to add a track to a folder that already has tracks, but MM doesn't detect the new track insertion. Where can I find Folder Monitoring? I can't find it.. I changed the monitoring of the folder containing the FLAC files to "on startup and continue," but now MM doesn't just add a single new track or folder, but scans hundreds of existing folders until they're all added. I don't want it to scan the entire folder every time, but only add a single folder or track. Is this possible? Thanks

Folder Monitoing's Continuous Scan will pick up anything in the selected folder(s), including sub-folders. It won't pick up anything outside of that.

Just for a test have you tried adding the tracks to a folder that already contains an existing track? Continuous monitoring should see the new tracks but I am wondering if it catches new folders not already existing???

Hi, I don't mean any ripping! I have several folders with FLAC songs. If I add these folders to the folder I've chosen for MM to play my 200 singers or bands, each time, to update the MM library, I have to scan all the artist folders. I don't want this to happen; I want MM's library to update every time I add a folder into the one that contains all of them. Thanks.

Are you scanning in the CD (you can't play files without CD inserted) or are asking for Auto-Rip (files copied from CD to PC)?

Hi, is it possible to set the MM library so that every time I insert an artist's CD into the folder I've set in MM, the library automatically updates? without having to update the entire library every time, just to add a single folder. Currently, it's set to "automatic detection," but it doesn't update. Thanks.
