Are you using MediaMonkey WASAPI output and is is set to Exclusive Mode? If not, which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?

I am seeing the same exact bug on 2024.1.0.3113. It's extremely jarring.

Can you please capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643

This will help a developer analyze why this happens on your setup.

With the latest update (2024.1.0.3113) on Windows 10, I've had intermittent issues with volume. When a new song starts, the volume is sometimes randomly raised to 100%. However, the volume slider in the bottom right shows that the volume has not changed at all. Changing the volume with the slider immediately returns the volume to where it should be.

I originally thought it had something to do with playback volume leveling, but the issue still occurs with that turned off.

My temporary fix is to keep MM volume at 100% in the program and adjust volume with the Windows volume mixer.
