Hello to the MediaMonkey Forum.
I'm not quite sure if I published my post in the right right section. If not, please move it to the right one.
I've been using the software for a long time and appreciate it. My music library is relatively large with about 15'000 titles. The music is stored on a synology ds220+ and I usually listen to it via my receiver, which supports DLNA. Unfortunately, the music selection via the manufacturer's app is a bit crabby and not optimal. It is much more convenient if I run MediaMonkey and install the MMRemote5 app with my smartphone.
So I have the comfort I want for music selection. But this has the big disadvantage that the notebook and MediaMonkey always have to run when I want to listen to music. That's why I wondered if it wasn't possible to run an application directly on the NAS. Synology has the DS Audio app. I have had rather negative experiences with it. It frequently crashes during playback and the software doesn't seem to be maintained at all. I don't know when they did the last update, it's a pity.
In addition, it can't handle it when you define several genres for one title. In MM, I can separate the genres with a ; between. Unfortunately, other applications usually do not understand this separator. I've already searched the web for solutions, but haven't figured out if such a app for my NAS really exists. The whole thing should work reliably, otherwise it's no fun. Now I'm looking forward to your answers.
Kind regards, Daniel
