I would love to have this feature. It works well in iTunes. Rather then remove tracks from the library altogether, it allows you to leave them in tact in the context of the album, but off all random playlists.
If I'm playing an album, then the introductary or commentary tracks make sense. If I'm playing random, they should be skipped since out of context of the concert they make no sense. So removing them from the library isn't good.
Playlists are not really a solution either. I should be able to select a genre, artist, composer or whatever and random play from it without certain tracks being choosen. It would be very akward and time consuming to make a playlist for every possible selection criteria. Also, custom fields are not visible on the ipod.
