Can you make Screenshots, Drive properties, Opened drive letter in explorer.

Have you tried to copy files using USB 3.x Port but connect it to USB 2.0 Port for reading.

Yellow triangle usually means permission/access issues eg. elevated access rights needed or encrypted format.

Also try to Drag and Drop few files to Open Drive (explorer) from MMW and see what happen. Regarding Filenames and paths MMW have Mask ASCII that will convert all filename to plain ASCII character set.

What is the Head unit model (Car model) maybe manual would show more info?

I am slowly reducing the number of songs on the flash to see if that is the problem.

Any thought on the yellow triangles?

Hi,
many car devices have issues reading Drives bigger than 16/32GB formatted in exFAT, Try to format it using FAT32 and see if that help.

You should try with a non-usb 3 (smaller size?) USB drive to check if it is the problem. Also read up on documentation and user complaints to get an idea on the limitations of the car (they're often weird ones when it comes to cars, like amount of folders, amount of files per folder, max playlist size, filename length, non-standard characters and/or limit to Artwork size).

A USB 3 Problem?

by jefftix.jt » Mon May 20, 2019 3:23 pm

I recently purchased a USB 3 flash drive to use in my car, copying over music from MediaMonkey on to the flash drive.

After plugging in the flash drive, I waited quite a while, and then the car said it could not read the flash drive.

I brought the flash drive back in and tried to play the music on the flash drive in Windows Media Player.

It would play one song and then stop. Each song also had a yellow triangle next to it.

I played with it for a while. The dealership was wondering if the car could not handle a USB3 device. They had the same problem.

But I am not thinking this is a USB issue. I am thinking I have a setting wrong someplace, and this problem is my doing.

Thank you in advance for any help you guys are able to offer.
