what mini player in mm 2 as far as i can remember there was no mini player in mm 2.
the task bar player can be made in to different sizes what ever the skin creator wants. but should be limited to not take up lots of space on the task bar. still there are some with a fair amount of things on the micro player.
mine are simple rather thin and plain on the horz one and a little more info on the vertical one.
but the mini player is the floating player and that is only in mm 3 not in the old mm2.
mm 2 only used winamp skins i don't remember any then else in the skin to let it work as a mini player.
if your talking about the roll down and roll up button. they are added in to the mm 3 code but work differently.
some one named "LikeMM" has made a slim line roll up mini player look for his message thread.
