USB sync: changes in file location settings ignored, unless you remove the MediaMonkey folder from the USB

Could any one with a few minutes to spare be so kind as to try this on their PC and report back if they are affected, too? Description : when syncing to a USB drive, MMW "remembers" only the first settings chosen to map the files location. Any change made after a first sync is not applied, unless yo...

Re: Can Media Monkey Android search a DLNA server? Or access and index files on a NAS?

You mean that the MM client is better at searching when connected to a MM server than to any other DLNA server? The problem is that getting MM server to run on a NAS, which is effectively a Linux box, isn't straightforward, if I understand correctly

Re: Grouping folders by letters (from 'Adele' to 'A to C\Adele')

Brilliant! And - forgive me if it's a banal question - I suppose I can use Album Artist to group together all the albums with different artists? Eg let's say the album is "Movie X soundtrack" and each track is by a different artist; I could set Artist to the artist of each track, and Album Artist to...

Grouping folders by letters (from 'Adele' to 'A to C\Adele')

The folders containing my music library are currently arranged as Music\Artist\Album. I would like to rearrange them into one folder for artists from A to D, one from E to F, etc. Is there a quick way to do it in Media Monkey? If I find a way to do it outside of MediaMonkey (either manually or putt...

Re: How to upgrade from portable to Gold?

You're a star! I owe you a pint :) One last question, if I may: to upgrade a portable installation to the latest version, do I simply download the latest file, choose portable install, then overwrite the existing folder? Or do I need to install to a separate folder then move the library?

Can Media Monkey Android search a DLNA server? Or access and index files on a NAS?

I would like to move my music library to a NAS and run a DLNA server on it; Media Monkey Windows will be able to access the files on the NAS, so there shouldn't be problems moving the files from the PC to the NAS. However, can Media Monkey Android search the content of a DLNA server? I haven't bough...

Re: Classify songs into groups, depending on which device I sync them to?

That's great - you're a star! :D Thanks a lot- I have just bought the gold licence and tried exactly this! One more question, if I may: if I understand this table correctly (you posted a link to it a while back): https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/WebHelp:About_Track_Properties/4.0 custom fi...

Re: How to upgrade from portable to Gold?

I see. But if I want to move from portable to standard installation, what would be the best way to do it? Is the standard installation any faster in searching the library, or is there really little difference and no real advantage/disadvantage in portable vs standard installation? Thanks a lot!

Classify songs into groups, depending on which device I sync them to?

Is there a quick way to flag certain artists or songs so that they are only synced to certain devices? Basically I want to sync only some songs to my phone, and only some others to a USB stick which I then play in my car. I know that, if you connect the device, you can choose what to sync, but: This...

How to upgrade from portable to Gold?

I am currently running MediaMonkey portable on Windows 10. I want to buy the Gold version, but is there a specific procedure to follow to upgrade from the portable one? There is a "get gold" option on the menu, but I want to be sure it wouldn't mess up my library - sometimes portable versions of som...

Re: How to move library from PC to NAS?

Thanks. I assume this means that MediaMonkey will automatically update the playlists so that they point to the new location of the files, right?

How to move library from PC to NAS?

I want to upgrade to Gold and move my library from my PC to a NAS (probably a Synology drive, not that it should make a difference). The PC on which MediaMonkey will run will continue to be the same. Is there any specific procedure to be followed since I'll be moving to a NAS rather than to an ordin...

How to sync MM library with a DLNA server on a NAS?

My music collection is on the same PC on which MediaMonkey is installed. I’d like to move my collection to a NAS - probably a Synology DS218+, but any recommendation on whether other brands have better apps or support for music streaming would be appreciated – and have a few questions: MediaMonkey w...
