Re: MediaMonkey on ubuntu (or linux)

I mean, it does run but it freezes while tring to play music. It does not work with all wine versions. Particularly not with the latest ones. I tested successfully with wine 7.9 (via playonlinux on debian bookworm) and 5.03 (debian bullseye default). Others might work as well but I haven't tried th...

That is what came to my mind as well:
Use multiple genres according to the particular tracks.
Easiest done by drag & dropping the selected tracks onto the fitting genre on the left (holding CTRL-key).

Re: Classical Albums - how do you deal with "movements"?

I use to store tracks in a hierarchical folder pattern like the following "auto-organize" mask: \<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Track #:2> - <Title> * and write movement numbers into the titles: https://imgur.com/a/PPaoRSd The path length might be still pretty long, but is manageable. * "A s...

I can wait,
Understandable and unfortunate. May I ask with which version of Ubuntu you had this bad "WINE" experience with?
I am interested in trying it out myself in a virtual machine.

Did you experience problems using MM with wine?
Works almost perfectly well here. (MM5 & MM4)

Re: Best Way to reinstall MM4

MediaMonkey has been getting sluggish. Now Playing is the same as it was 2 months ago, when opening When I send to a playlist, the most recent at the top doesn't update When I select the Music playlist, it takes up to 5 minutes to populate. (I do the Maintain Library regularly) Would reinstalling r...

Da der Fred hier ja schon alt ist, tut sich da wohl nichts mehr, oder? I can confirm this for version 2606. Happens wherever "Lookup Image" is available.

Re: Importing Music to Media Monkey 5.

Auto-Organize Files is a good method: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Changing_Filenames/5.0 Surely the method of choice, if one wishes to get all files neatly organized in one place. There is good reason for the warning though: Use this with caution! It permanently updates your media file...

Re: Auto-organise doesn't move all files

in MM4 and in early versions of MM5 auto-organise moved both the music files and any supporting document files (jpgs and pdfs), asking whether the latter should be moved. Have you tried with the option "delete emptied folders" enabled? Seems to work fine here with or without this option e...

Re: Need help with moving files

use Send to > Folder (Move) from the Context Menu). It is safer to use >Folder (copy) in case something goes wrong. (If all works well you can delete on the HDD anyway, if you wish to do so.) You are aware that this command only moves the files and not any folders? If you had your files organized i...
