Re: How can I make a label (surething) for a playlist?
surething cd lable maker don't work in windows 7 unless they updated it in the last month since i tried to use it. Well, that's annoying... thanks for mentioning it. I always found it easier to just burn the CD with proper-tags, etc., included - and then let SureThing read it off the CD. No copy/pa...

Re: How to DISABLE Windows Shell Integration???
Sounds like you need ShellExView [Shell Extension Viewer] While I happen to agree about how useful ShellExView is (as well as all mentioned caveats), in this particular case it won't identify the entries for the Folder types as MM doesn't actually run an active extension, it only has passive entrie...

Re: Podcasts suddenly not updating...
Fair enough. Cheers. "Downgrading IE" is exceptionally easy when one uses image backups. I suppose my concern pertaining to the DB was that I keep it on an external drive, and was unsure if the new installer would be intelligent enough to cope with a modified .ini file, installing o...

Re: Podcasts suddenly not updating...
The bug has already been fixed in the latest beta version. Which suggests I ought to update to the beta... I was rather waiting for the proper release, as I recall it (3.1) fiddles with the database format or something, and I hoped to avoid messing with what-ain't-broke. :D Could I just remove IE8 ...

Podcasts suddenly not updating...
Just this evening, all podcast update requests error out with: http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8017/podcasterror.jpg A forum search turned up this thread, however it is related to the beta testing, and I am using (the old-but-trustworthy) 3.0.6.1190. What's obscure is that it worked fine this mor...

Re: Mexico: the IT Centre of a Brave New World?
I'm not sure if (logically speaking) one of my own jocund posited punditries can be used as recursive proof of my own above postulation. That might imply solipsistic intent. Reductio ad absurdum. :D  To seek the negative I suppose would require just one evidence of imaginative thinking:...

Mexico: the IT Centre of a Brave New World?
First it was the Large Hadron Collider that was supposed to bring about the end of the world. Then, it was the Economic Collapse which would have us leaping from our Ivory Tower windows. Now, as foretold 5 years ago, live from Mexico, providing help and advice with a certain sanguine droll-ness, it ...

How can searching for nsync bring up backstreetboys? Just to really frighten you, there are actually quite a few connections betwixt such pop groups. Witness Celine Dion & Backstreet Boys and n'sync on stage at the same time. On purpose. "Performing." I had nicer dreams before you ask...

When Bookmarks were handcrafted lacework...
In keeping with the habit of enquiring after esoteric scripts only a few people would find useful, I've another thought. As MM (when setup accordingly) is kind enough to remember "Bookmarks" in podcasts, audio books, whathaveyou, might it be possible to extract this information from...

Re: I AM slow; don't understand folder view
Ok, quoth the title, "I am slow; I don't understand folder view". I understand the concept of how it comes about, but I question as to why it exists. Does it serve some purpose I am unaware of, and more significantly, why can't I get rid of it? Even minimizing the '-' signs does not work, ...

Ok, in this case: Sorry spacefish, you were right! :) Humility is a beautiful thing. Lest hubris get the better of us. But it's rape and pillage that move civilization abreast, not asunder. In the interest of hijacking a thread, and on an unrelated, yet related, point, why does Add/Re-Scan t...

Re: Empty folders?
Haemophiliacs can't be choosers, or something like that. :D A palliative goes a long way in the desert. Try unchecking 'hide protected operating system files' in the windows folder 'View' options (not just "show hidden files and folders"), so you can see exactly what is in the folders them...

Re: Empty folders?
See here for more information and a few solutions. Most likely you have left your music in the standard Windows "...\Music" folder, which WMP also accesses, leaving behind hidden system files (not just normal hidden files) of art and what-not, thus interfering with the expected operations ...

Re: Did a dumb thing, renamed music library folder
Or, if using Vista, right-click the library folder (and after) the MM DB file, and select "Previous Versions" under Properties. Saved my bacon (rashers) plenty of times.rovingcowboy wrote:...you will need to spend months cleaning the mess up.

Re: Right Click for Scripts -with buttons! (2008-08-30) [MM3]
Finally, I noticed yesterday that my code for parsing out scripts.ini assumes that the line with ScriptType=XX is the last line in the section. If ScriptType=XX wasn't last, then it might not work right as is - I'll fix that in an update. Until then, please make sure any scripts.ini updates you cre...
