Re: How do you organize your music?

Oh, I'm a heathen. My opinion (no offense): Screw albums. If you made a crappy album with two good tracks (Rolling Stones) the rest of them are hitting the trashcan. If Louie Armstrong put the same friggin song on 10 albums, I'm keeping one, only one. Live, alternate take? If it sounds different and...

Re: what songs give you the chills?

I assume it refers to a song which, sometimes no matter how much you hear it, makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up for whatever reason, fear, longing, memories. Like the picture of the villager in Vietnam getting shot in the head, or the sailor kissing the nurse after WW2 ended, footstep...

Re: what songs give you the chills?

My musical taste is uh, well... Both tracks take a minute to really warm up. The Suicide track is based on truth and the video is actually two videos superimposed on a screen to nice effect. Throbbing Gristle - Discipline http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPctNq3W9Uo Suicide - Frankie Teardrop http://w...

Yeah, lemme think... I did this a while back, but it should still work. Select the track, open Properties/ Album Art...Now you are looking at the stored art....leaving this window open, hit Save/Save As on your editor to save your edited track. Then, once it is done saving, hit OK on the properties/...

Adventures In Volume Leveling

I began with some 52,000 tracks, from a variety of sources. Analyse Volume took 5 days and ran quite well. Using 86 db as a target, volumes ranged from +9 to -8, quite a large range, but the majority of tracks were between +1.0 and -1.0 (So I felt 86 db was a good choice, lucky for me I didn't want ...

Losing Album Art Upon Editing

I Use Goldwave to edit files when I need to, which works fine. But when I edit a track, I lose the album art. (the rest of the tag is fine) I spose i could look it up again, but i've been thru that already. Is there an easier way? Like maybe copy/paste to some temp file or something? Or is there a w...

A Bottleneck

MM is speedy and great for organizing large # of files. But there is a bottleneck. Goal: To fix flawed tags, misspelled artists, etc. and match filenames to tags 1) Retag all files from filename 2) Using Artist tree, find and correct flaws in artist names 3) Auto-organise the files to correct filena...

Volume Leveling questionz

1) Leveling seems to stop unpredictably. Sometimes it will level 300 tracks. Sometimes it will level 3. Then it just stops. Any thoughts? 2) Once a track is leveled, wouldn't the displayed leveling info read zero? Or is it simply ignored once the track is leveled? (the player adjusts the volume acco...
