Dev Roadmap

The roadmap devs have for future versions of MediaMonkey answers a number of questions that people ask here on the forums: - Feature X is missing from MM, are you planning on adding it? - When? - When will the next major version of MediaMonkey be coming out? http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/roadmap...

Re: Unofficial but very helpful iPod/iTunes/MediaMonkey Hint

Unfortunately, since iOS5 came out & once again broke the way ipod/iphone databases are setup, MM cannot sync to them directly. We are all hoping for a fix but it seems that given how long it's taking this time that Apple has made it particularly difficult...

Re: iTunes 10.5

I have been synching IP4 using MM but since IOS and itunes update all songs not in itunes are no longer playable on iphone. I see that synching is not yet possible with MM4 beta, but is there any way to get the songs already on iphone to play again? Presumably they will have to be moved to itunes s...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

It is clear is that you are unwilling to explore MM4 and are not technically proficient enough to understand how it can be easily adapted to taste. It took me all of 30 seconds to look up what collections are in MM4 and to begin to understand how they expand MM4's possibilities. Did you even try lo...

Re: MM4 - still no support for lossless M4A encoding?

I'm a flac geek, too, but do you really think that you can hear the artifacts introduced by the mp3 encoder while sitting in a running car? It depends on the song but I know that unless everything is ripped to >256k I notice the warbles & "mushy" sound that ripping t MP3s can give. Si...

Re: MediaMonkey 4

MM4 is no longer a beta. The main http://www.mediamonkey.com web site hasn't been updated yet but if you're here in the forum you should be able to find it.

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

MediaMonkey 4 uses Collections instead of Filters and uses Type to define what fits in what default Collection. What does that even mean? It seems like change for change sake, when what should have been improved (the UI) has taken a step back. The MM4 UI is different because MM4 at last lives up to...

Re: Converting TO ALAC

Apple has just released it's ALAC reference code under the Apache license: http://alac.macosforge.org/ Hopefully, this will shortly* allow ALAC support in MediaMonkey at the same level that MP3/FLAC/OGG. Given that most everyone is moving to lossless & iDevices only support ALAC this would mean ...

Re: Mediamonkey as a DLNA controller or DACP _Client_.

Thanks Lowlander, Any chance I coould learn where exactly? Ive run through much of these forums without finding a close match. The one reference (from the official wishlist) was to this: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=534 Just trying to see if I can find out where the state of this is...

Re: iTunes 10.5

Download&install MM4 Beta. Select the music in the iPhone in the left panel. hit ^R. Move/copy all the songs to your hard drive. Add the files to iTunes. Resync using iTunes. You may need to play around a little with the iTunes configuration because (if you're like me) you've changed the iTunes ...

Mediamonkey as a DLNA controller or DACP _Client_.

Hi All, Mediamonkey 4 supports being a DLNA server so DLNA renderers like XBoxes can pull songs & videos from PCs with MediaMonkey. Monkeytunes adds a DACP client to MediaMonkey so people can now use their iPhones & AppleTVs to listen to music (& possibly Videos in the future). What I'l ...

Re: Legit FLAC tunes ?

Responding to danhackley:
A common reason for using FLAC over WAV is to reduce bandwidth when sending to remote speakers such as when using UPNP. I have seen people having issues playing WAVs over slow links like WIFI that do not appear when the songs are compressed with either FLAC or MP3.
