Nice find. Look like it can do a lot. The problem though is it's gonna tag music as good as MM?dypsis wrote:Has anyone tried AlbumPlayer before?
I have only just noticed it, and was wondering what it is like, and how it compares to MediaMonkey.
And thoughts?

Re: MediaMonkey Reviews
That's great review. The title kind of pushed me back a bit though. "..Confessions of an mp3 Addict"? I mean who would listen to mp3 nowadays?martialartsguy wrote:Here's a link to an article I wrote a while back and just updated for 3.1:

Re: Main competitors
My experience so far, in no particular order. 1. WMP 12 If what you want is only play mp3 or WMA Lossless you'll be fine with it. You might love new functions that come with Win 7 like Media Foundation, Play To.., New taskbar shortcut etc. But when you step out of Microsoft realm into something like...

It's a poor marketing strategy. Now not only I had answer to my question#2 I also have an answer to my question#3...well...kind of. 3. What is the best skin for MediaMonkey? (I'm a graphic designer so I kinda dig simple yet elegant style.) Check this out. This is what I'm talking about. http://img16...

iMonkey is perfect for a small device like iPhone. For bigger touchscreen you don't need it, and VNC is just much easier to work with.Lowlander wrote:You can use iMonkey to control MediaMonkey from an iPhone

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
As I said before you can use tightvnc to accomplish the same thing on a PC which is what I thought you were asking about. This is for an iphone or touch. This does make a nice visual hand held remote and is something I plan on implementing myself for my system. I plan on getting a touch and jailbre...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
Hi, 2. Is there a way to use PC1 to remotely control MediaMonkey installed in PC2? I want to buy a new tablet touchscreen PC to control music playback in my main HTPC (which connected to AMP). Is that possible? If so, please provide link for further study. I think I kind of have an answer for my qu...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
I don't know if there are any plans to add Album to the ignore prefixes feature, but you can check the Mantis system to see if it has been added. Thank you. It's not the deal breaker though. The deal breaker would be (a lack of) bit-perfect audio out. I hope MM programmers out there would see how i...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
It seems MediaMonkey can only ignore prefixes for Artists not for Albums. In any case ignoring prefixes is a user setting that can be changed under Tools > Options > Appearance. Oh, that's bad news. Would it be corrected in the future? (and thank you for a tip. Look like I'm safe there. Ignore alre...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
Hi, it's me again. I have a small problem of sorting album name. When I'm in Album node, sorting by Album, strangely "The Dark Side of the Moon" appeared under "T". It didn't appear under "D" like it's supposed to. I double checked with WMP and sure enough, it appeared ...

Re: Audiophile digital music setup
Apart from the quality of the components, my main problems with the existing system are that the PC makes a bit of noise, and also that it uses too much electricity to justify having it on just to stream the music. You could go dedicated server/dedicated player route. For server, you could use your...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
When you try adding these files, are you doing so by the "Add/Rescan Tracks to the Library" menu item? If so, you'll need to make sure WAV is ticked in the "Add File Types" list on the pop-up screen. I think it's unchecked by default. That's it! Woooshhh....what a ride! Thank yo...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
I get it now. That's why he said track number prefixed in Title confused me. I got this sorted correctly now (I hope). There's still a thing though. When I first installed MM, I can add an album ripped in WAV to Library. It appeared untagged but then I can edit the properties so all is fine. This ti...

Re: A few questions about mediamonkey from long-time WMP user.
As I see on both Pictures you get correct sort. Foobar Added tracks in Album Order and MM added in Ascending order based on Title which Means that you didn't set Album order in view or used Filename Order as that will also sort correctly. And where exactly to "set Album order in view or used F...
