Exporting & copying files

Here is my problem. I have a Marantz receiver which uses the HEOS app to connect to my MM server. I can play my MM playlists through my home audio system, BUT HEOS won't keep the playlist in its proper order. HEOS insists on alphabetizing the list by artist and then playlist. I've asked HEOS support...

Re: Update Play Statistics 1.0 (2013-02-03)

The problem @mcow reports is still a problem, although intermittent. Sometimes the script updates properly, sometimes it updates + 1 month. I do appreciate the user-submitted scripts and addons, but it would be very nice if this bug could be fixed. The first image shows me trying to update a track t...

Re: implement support for old add-ons in MM5

In response to Jiri's question from 2-plus years ago, I find that I have installed a lot of add-ons. The one I use the most is glided.mmip (which I know is a skin, not an add-on per se). Glided doesn't seem to get much love from the Ventis staff. I find it to be the most functional and easiest to re...

Re: Find More From Same enhancements

Thanks to the forum moderator for finding this old but still relevant thread and and merging my separately entered comment into it. I like the idea expressed above of user-customized Find More from Same options in addition to Title. I could see someone wanting to use FMfS for BPM, Album Artist, Mood...

Find More from Same > Title

Here's another item on my MM5 wish list. This one will be of interest primarily to those with larger music collections. When you right click a highlighted track, one of the menu items is "Find More from Same", and then the sub-options are Artist(s), Album, Composer(s), and several Folder o...

Re: Rating suggestions

Did I see in Peke's post above that the Bomb rating is removed from MM5? That would be a shame if it is. However, if it's going away, I hope in the conversion from MM4 to MM5, existing Bomb ratings are converted to the lowest possible Star rating, which I guess would be one-half star. Please do not ...

Re: [SOLVED MM5] song key [#7181]

This will be a welcome feature when MM5 comes out. Among the apps mentioned by others, the app beaTunes calculates the song key. It will be nice when MM5 can read those values into its database.

Better navigation within a playing track

This might be regarded as a bug, but I'll treat it as a wish list item. Often when I'm building a playlist or otherwise working with my music (as opposed to just listening), I want to hear the beginning of a track, and then jump to the end to hear the last 15-30 seconds or so. I want to know what th...

Toolbar button for Crossfade

Here is a really straightforward and kind of minor request for MM5: You turn "Crossfade" on and off from the Play menu. I would like to have a button to toggle Crossfade, and be able to put that button in a toolbar so it can be used without accessing the menu. The button should visibly sho...

Re: Recently Added Content

As a workaround, rename your playlists so that the alphabetical sort puts them in the order you want.

Instead of
Playlist 1
Playlist 2
Playlist 3

Make them
010 Playlist 2
020 Playlist 1
030 Playlist 3

Searching for blank entries

I can't find a thread on this topic, so... Is there any way to search for a field with an empty value from the Search Bar ? So far I've had no luck in doing that. The reason I want to do that is to search for some combination of things where one thing is blank, for example, composer:"carole kin...

Re: Ideal way to treat loose tracks without an album?

Lowlander responded while I was composing my reply above. I do use per Album for playback leveling. So my comments above have that caveat.

Re: Ideal way to treat loose tracks without an album?

Just a word of caution: Sometimes it's a lot more than a slight volume variation. If one track of a two-track "unreleased" album gets adjusted by -14.1dB and another one by +0.1dB because the sources were way different, the -7.0dB Album Volume won't be very appropriate for either track at ...

Re: Ideal way to treat loose tracks without an album?

John, another reason to put a unique value in the Album field has to do with Volume Analysis. If you "Analyze Volume" on your tracks, and if you have several tracks from an artist that are part of your "no album" group, "Analyze Volume" will (understandably) treat all o...

Changing Album Replay Gain values

Here's a workaround for a longtime MM problem (in my opinion, it's a problem): Situation: You have an album with multiple tracks (mp3) which you have "analyzed volume" on, so there is a value in the "Album Volume" and "Track Volume" fields. Then you decide to change the...
