Re: MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format...

"Did you have volume leveling enabled? It also re-encodes."

I tried turning it off and on, but it didn't work either way. I'd prefer it on, since I'd just reencode everything to ALAC before sending it over and get the advantage of nice stable volumes...

Re: MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format...

"It could be that do not correctly play non Zero padded Audio Data Chunk (Buffer)"

What does that mean? Is there some way to fix that?

Re: MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format...

Files do convert from AAC M4A to ALAC M4A in MediaMonkey - I just tried a couple. They play fine on the internal player, so the problem doesn't appear to be MM's ability convert to ALAC under normal circumstances. Is there something different happening when it converts prior to rendering? This seems...

Re: MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format...

I did check the settings. AAC files weren't set to auto-transcode there. FLAC was set to transcode to ALAC, because for some inexplicable reason my Pioneer has trouble rendering FLAC, but has no problem with ALAC. The FLAC transcodes seem to be working. No problems with MP3 files, either. Weird. Her...

MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format...

OK, now I've got a weird error cropping up. Whenever MM goes to render an M4A track on my receiver - which definitely supports M4A and which I'm not asking MediaMonkey to transcode - it's throwing a "MediaMonkey is unable to decode this format" error. I just bought and installed the Codec pack and i...

Re: WASAPI and UPNP

Is there a way to turn off MediaMonkey's ability to control the volume of the renderer. The little volume slider in MM is really twitchy, and I'm worried I'm gonna accidentally blast myself one of these nights when I touch it and send the volume flying to Spinal Tap 11 levels...

Re: Moving MediaMonkey from one PC to another

It seems to have worked OK so far. Fired up MM back on the main PC, and it's working perfectly. Has no trouble finding any tracks on the NAS in the library.

Re: New PC

Ahhh, play counts... Last year I moved MM off of my main PC and onto a laptop I was using as a media server. It went from being on a mapped NAS drive to just a network path on the new computer. I did a rediscovery to find all the "missing" library tracks and went forward just fine, except I lost my ...

Re: Moving MediaMonkey from one PC to another

I think I used the network path to my NAS this last time, instead of mapping a drive. Looks like that was a good choice! I'm moving MM from a laptop I was using as a media server back to my main PC, since my new(ish) receiver lets me render to from any system directly over DLNA. It's a little glitch...

Re: Moving MediaMonkey from one PC to another

Do you actually need to update the drive serial number when you're dealing with a NAS, though? Won't the NAS have the same serial number on both PCs? Or is the serial number something generated by Windows on each computer, and not something coming from the NAS drive itself?

Re: UPnP/DLNA - Supported Format Codec List [#15297]

Except it was closed as a dupe - I can't see the other case - but apparently because it's not a free codec. Only this isn't requesting the ability to read or convert to the codec, only to pass the file unmolested over UPnP/DLNA to another client (which presumably can decode the codec).

UPnP/DLNA - Supported Format Codec List [#15297]

So, I finally got MediaMonkey's built-in UPnP/DLNA server kinda sorta working with many of my video files on my Blu-ray player, having successfully configured it so that it (mostly) knows which video file formats and codecs my Sony Blu-ray player supports, which it doesn't (that'll have to be transc...

Re: Snippet of prior track audio plays at start of current track

I might have "fixed" this. I had MM re-compress the FLAC tracks at the highest compression setting, and so far the stuttering behavior has stopped. Not sure though why it was happening in the first place...

Snippet of prior track audio plays at start of current track

Here's an odd one that just started recently. I'm running 4.1.20.1864 on Win 10. I've checked for an update but MM hasn't found one. It seems to be hitting 24-bit, 44.1kHz FLAC files the hardest. I can't replicate the behavior at other bit rates or depths, although I haven't tried all (24 bit, 192kH...
