Two Alternatives First - Tag by file structure How have your files been named and organized? You may be able to restore most of your tags from the folder and file names. For example, my organizational structure is: Z:\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Album Artist> - <Album> - <Track#> - <Title> Therefore, b...

My DB is large (250+ mb). I will upload to Rapidshare, or similar, when I am back to my home PC.

Let me know if you have a preference.

MM3 RC4: Duplicate Tracks on Search

This is similar to my posting of this before (which I could not reproduce). When I am searching on a term, duplicates of the same track are sometimes returned. In this example, 2 duplicates of each track are returned. In other examples, 4 duplicates of the same track are returned. http://i275.photob...

No. That is not normal. I have 110,000 tracks and it takes less than 24 hours. Adding tracks to the libary can be both CPU and Network bandwidth dependant. I suggest taking a looks at Microsofts "Task Manager", which can be invoked by pressing CNTR-ALT-Delete, to see where you bottleneck m...

My preferred default option is to limit within the current filter criteria. My library is quite large (110K) and a search of the entire library can take quite a long time and is difficult to stop once started.

However, I agree that this should be user selectable.

Classical Music Functionality Request - Alpha Versions

The new alpha versions change the titles of the fields for "Classical" music in the properties view. For example, "Album Artist" becomes "Orchestra". The "Conductor" field appears, etc. These changes seem to be based upon the "Genre" of a particular ...

1. I did adjust the priority. Even at the highest level, the "Analyze Volume" process does not signicantly speed up. The CPU utilization level is still quite low (2-4%) for a process which is highly CPU dependant. The network utilization is nearly non-existant. 2. No other process are runn...

I concur with previous comments, the "re-scan" is slow in MM3, particularly as compared to MM2. It took in excess of 14 hours to re-scan 24,000 tracks which were already in the MM3 library. The same re-scan of tracks in MM2 takes only a little more than 1 1/2 hours. Not sure if it makes a ...

Trixmoto, Please implement as a script. I will take all of the good sources of Album Art that I can find, iTunes seems to be very good for High Quality Art from Popular and Recent artists. Lookout, because once I get the majority of my Albums properly tagged with Artwork, I will be looking for ways ...

My complaint about most of the higher end devices is that they try to do everything. They try to combine both the "front end" media presentation layer, with the "back end" ripping/tagging/storage. I am perfectly happy with the backend, and share a RAID array amongst several PCs, ...

Yes, you are correct, it can take a long time to re-scan a large library. I have a "New Music" folder where I rip all of my new CD's. Usually only a few hundred tracks there at any given time. Then I confirm the tags, add artwork, etc. As soon as everything in the "New Music" fol...

Yes, Album is filled. I am just trying to copy Artist into AlbumArtist where AlbumArtist is missing.

It is odd, I can copy other <Masks> into AlbumArtist, but not Artist?

I can do it on a one-by-one basis, but that gets tedious very quickly.

I am trying to copy "ArtistName" into "AlbumArtist" where "AlbumArtist" is missing. This function works for me using this script when I copy other fields into "AlbumArtist", but for whatever reason does not seem to work specifically for "ArtistName"...
