WMP doesn't have a configuration for the volume leveling (just enable or not), so whatever the default is for that program. You are correct - by changing it to volume level for the whole album instead of by track, the static disappeared. Not sure why, but will avoid that setting in the future. Thanks!

Yes - I did find one other place where the file monitor was enabled due to the nuance of Windows file structure having those Music directories under 2 paths in MM.
