Re: Google Music
If you want to stream your Google Music from the cloud just get an inexpensive Android tablet and load Google Music (aka Play Music) on the tablet and attach the headphone out of the tablet to an audio in on your amplifier. I do this with a Nexus 7 and it works just fine. Tablet will last all day on...

Re: Windows firewall -- which MM apps should be enabled?
That is exactly what I have done. The rules I have implement essentially open up ALL ports if MM.exe is on the other side of the port. Doesn't seem to work. Sorry, I haven't had much time to work on this lately, will probably have to wait a week or two before I can get back to it. If I find a soluti...

Re: Windows firewall -- which MM apps should be enabled?
Can't figure out what the trick is. When you add MM to the firewall it only adds it to the inbound rules. I have to go into the advanced firewall tool to add MM to the outbound rules -- all ports -- but that doesn't help. I installed Windows Network Monitor to see if I could figure it out, but there...

Re: Windows firewall -- which MM apps should be enabled?
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll run my experiment again when I get some time over the weekend; this time only enabling the MM.exe apps for firewall access. But given my current configuration of the firewall, with all the exe files in the directory enabled thru the firewall, it should be working. Wi...

Windows firewall -- which MM apps should be enabled?
Hello, After a little debugging I've determined that the firewall on my WHS 2011 machine, which also hosts MM, is getting in the way of my Onkyo TX-8050 successfully retrieving media from the MM DLNA server. Simple experiment -- disable the "local network" firewall and MM shows through, ev...

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
I've figured out the problem. On a WHS 2011 machine there is a "Media Streaming Metadata Synchronizer" service that overwrites tags and was also renaming the files in my media library. I think it starts up a copy of Windows Media Player in the background to manage this activity, since I al...

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
Okay, I'll give the debug log a go and see if I can get it to reproduce. May be a couple of days before I am able to get back on this.

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
If you know how to reproduce this... I'm not sure exactly how to reproduce it AND capture it. I've downloaded and installed the debug version along with debug view. I can successfully capture logs. And, after rebuilding the library, the library is confused, again. Although, in this case, it's a lit...

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
Could there be an issue with rights to delete files? Nope, the user has "Full Control" in those directories and, in fact, last night MediaMonkey did a "File -> Add/Rescan files..." and deleted all the "xx_title(2).mp3" files and replaced them with "xx_title.mp3&qu...

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
okay, found the scan/rescan bit I was looking for -- might be related to the problem -- is there a conflict between auto-organize and the add/rescan functions???

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
And now I can't figure out where you enable/disable the background process that does "auto-organize." Please direct me to the right place.

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
p.p.s. This is a four-core machine and I had the "auto-conversion" number of cores set to two, is it possible there is a race condition causing this? I've since set it to one, but won't retry the whole experiment again until I get some feedback from you guys.

Re: odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
BTW - a count of the mp3 files currently in the ...\music\ directory gives 2672 files, and the longest total path+file name is 174. These are calculated using: >dir /s/b *.mp3 | wc -l and >dir /s/b *.mp3 | wc -L

odd duplication and dead links of mp3 files
This is a very odd sort of problem, I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, so I've taken a few screen shots to help explain. I recently purchased and installed v4 of the product (4.0.1.1461). At first I thought I was having a strange interaction problem between Google MusicManager and MediaMonkey,...
