Re: Ripping Multi-CD albums

As lowlander says, it is really simple. Just highlight all the tracks on the disk being ripped, right-click and choose properties and fill in the disk number in the Disc # field. No special program needed for that, but any ripping program will allow the user to specify disc number; Exact Audio Copy ...

Re: Can't find CD in freedb

Hi, This is the first time ever that MM couldn't find an entry for a CD in freedb, and I have ripped more than 500 discs. This CD came out Aug 30, 2019. Is this unusual? Would I expect it to be added at some point? Is there a way that I can add it? Gregg Allman - Laid Back - 2 CD remastered. Thanks...

Is this still a "no"? I'm tired of JRiver's legendary counter-intuitivity and its developers' crassness.
You might want to look at Audirvana, roon or Vox then. MM seems to be investing it resources in the MP3 only Google Play. Shame.

Re: Super Audio CD

Would like to play DSD (dsf/dff) files. Any suggestions? Get roon, JRiver or Audirvana; you will need equipment that supports this. Vox will convert automatically dsd to PCM. A number of programs have moved ahead of Media Monkey, which has decided to move backwards and invest its MM5 resources in s...

Re: Composers

Could it be ä? I believe it should not be, but some programs don't like diacritic characters. Just as a test, you might rename Pärt to Part and see what happens.

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?

Among audiophiles, yes. Not so sure about the other 95+% of people. So long as lossless formats are sold at a much higher price that $1.29 per track, which is usually the case, the majority will not buy them. They have come to accept MP3 and AAC. The future of digital audio is streaming anyway. Ban...

Re: Tagging still not working

In this case I believe Savall's version of Markus Passion is not in freedb. It is not in musicbrainz, either, though it is in discogs. One of the problems with this particular composition is that there is no "Markus Passion" in that there is now no available score (if there ever was). Saval - using ...

Re: Where do I find regedit to download?

Thanks. It does help to get the name right. But even then searching for it at the extensions web site returns nothing.

Re: Where do I find regedit to download?

It's the add-on to edit regular expressions, not the registry editor. It appeared under General (I believe) when one choose Tools > Options. Disappeared in some update.

monkeyphile said there was no difference between MM and the roon/audirvana type player. I merely pointed out how wrong he was.

Where do I find regedit to download?

Tired of fruitless searching in this forum and in MM's extensions. Where is regedit?

Re: Feature Request: Categorize Artist Discography by Album Types [#15835]

Side note - I am not sure why so many articles focus on roon vs jriver - MediaMonkey seems to be the best of both worlds! Assuming a few requested tweaks and features are added ;) Does MM4 or MM5 unfold MQA files? Does either integrate HQPlayer? What about DSD files? Does MM5 play classical composi...

Re: Anyone know about metadata?

Microsoft have not stopped supporting metadata for Windows Media Player. They have stopped supporting it for Windows Media Center - a completely different product and one they are probably aiming to stop supporting altogether - it isn't part of Windows 10 for example. They will also stop supporting ...

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?

One of the reasons I moved on from Media Monkey is their decision to devote considerable resources to the lower quality MP3 only Google Play (yes it will upload your FLAC file but it will then change it to MP3). The future of digital audio is not in lossy formats like MP3. MQA is a way to store loss...
