Re: Using Mediamonkey through the net / cloud / other soluti

Did you ever send in a debug log attached to a support ticket? That generally allows developers to figure out the problem. I believe so, but I couldn't be 100% sure. I installed the debug version and sent quite a few of the pop up windows with a description of what I was doing at the time. Is that ...

Re: Using Mediamonkey through the net / cloud / other soluti

That looks outstanding Lowlander, thank you very much. It just hits one snag... I get that stupid Access Violation if I use a version beyond 4.0.3 :( I have posted on here in frustration many times in the past and the only solution I found at the time was to backdate my version to 4.0.3. At that tim...

Using Mediamonkey through the net / cloud / other solution

Hi all, I am looking to lean on your superior expertise and knowledge of Mediamonkey to help me get the most out of it and not need another solution. What I want to achieve is to be able to listen to my music collection (via the internet somehow) on my laptop and if possible also on my phone and ipa...

Re: Initialization error/Access violation...

I didn't try anything else suggested as I work a lot of hours so my personal time is sporadic and random. This is the first time I've really had to sit down at my personal computer in a while and when this worked so quickly I went with this solution for the time being. In time I will go through the ...

Re: Initialization error/Access violation...

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!

I just installed version 4.0.6.1501 over the top and it appears to have worked! :) :)

I hope I haven't jumped the gun and it will come back but right now I am getting no error messages when I do all the things that caused them before.

Fingers crossed!

Re: Initialization error/Access violation...

I installed the Debug version and it sent many messages. Is that the same thing as capturing the debug log? If not I am happy to do more to help the dev team. I program for a living so I know how difficult it can be with vague info to go on. And will the MM.db maintain all of my playlists, genres an...

Re: Access Violation - End of tether, may move on from MM :(

One more thing; If I go for re-installing MM, what are the files I need to make sure I save so it keeps all of my tagging and ratings? I have rated over 21,000 songs so I am understandably scared of losing that hard work (twelve years worth of work in fact!) :)

Re: Access Violation - End of tether, may move on from MM :(

Thanks very much for the suggestions. Will attempt them all. As you can see, I don't want to give up on MM! :) I was slightly wrong on my memory, I have 3GB. Here is the full details: OK, so I guess I don't now how t...

Re: Access Violation - End of tether, may move on from MM :(

I have the latest version and the regular install. Running on Windows XP. The machine is kinda old but works fine for all other things. Memory is 3.5GB. The music drive is a second hard disk, my F: drive. I moved it all separate years back when it became such a big collection. I clean my registry us...

Access Violation - End of tether, may move on from MM :(

I am VERY, VERY sad to say that I think I am at the end of my tether with the Access Violation error in MM and have begun to research alternative software. EVERY SINGLE time I do ANYTHING in Media Monkey I get hit with 3 or 4 error messages which 99% of the time begin with "Access Violation..." and ...

Re: Initialization error/Access violation...

Thanks Rovingcowboy but yeah the pop up has to be closed to get to allow anything else to get focus.

HOWEVER... I have got it working considerably better by switching back to using the Administrator user. I still get the stupid access violation pop ups but nowhere near as often.

Re: Initialization error/Access violation...

Has anyone got a solution to this yet? Mine is so bad now that I can't even use Mediamonkey. The box pops up the second I do anything. So if I try to open Properties so I can edit track names and burn in a CD I can never get to the box behind this silly popup error :( I REALLY would hate to move on ...

Re: Column/Track Browser doesn't keep three columns

Not being required is not an answer to my question. The solution you suggest doesn't work for me, or the other person commenting on this thread. I was hoping to find a solution via script. I am a coder by profession, I am much more comfortable in that realm so would much prefer it as a solution. But...

Am I missing something here or has my question not been answered? Can this be done via scripting?

Re: Column/Track Browser doesn't keep three columns

Via a script? What is the system service called? I can look it up on the Wiki once I know what to look for.

Thanks buddy
