Thanks Pete. Only saw this by accident as it went to a long extinct email address. I’d better have a look at my profile…

Quickest way to open Playlist folders?
I'm rusty, but I thought there was a KB shortcut that would immediately open the tree at Playlists, wherever I was, ready for me to select any playlist folder? If so could someone remind me please?

Cannot rename directory
While stepping through a folder of tracks in MM4, deleting some after playing to review, I'm frequently getting the message "Cannot rename directory" and cannot fathom why. After a deletion I try to rename the folder in the node pane (e.g. from 'Frank Sinatra (23)' to 'Frank Sinatra (22)' ...

Re: Copy Column Settings To Other Nodes
I too have asked about this before (possibly for MM4). I'm surprised the facility to make column settings 'global' does not exist.

Re: What determines the Auto-Organize destination folder?
Sorted thanks. Using that tool so infrequently, I pay the price of forgetting some basics!

What determines the Auto-Organize destination folder?
I'm using Auto-Organize on files in folder ABC. But the result appears in folder XYZ/REORGANISED. I assume that when doing similar tasks a few months ago I must have created that folder. And that it is still by default still being used for subsequent applications of the tool. But how do I now change...

Re: Difference between content in MM4 & MM5
Thanks both, very helpful. Making progress. But find it easy to get into an almighty mess once I start using Auto-organize and Auto-tag on folder with inconsistent tagging.

Re: Monitoring not being followed?
Thanks, but I don't really follow. I thought that Add/Rescan was intended to ensure the database contained only the files specified in the scan dialog?

Remove unavailable items - how does it identify them?
I've just tested this and it gave results that i find puzzling MM4>Entire Library>Add/Rescan Folders>Options>Remove unavailable items is enabled. I added a new file, Stardust-copy.mp3, and scan gave 8,106 files. Then I renamed that to Stardust-copy.BAK, but scan still reported 8,106. It was displaye...

Difference between content in MM4 & MM5
I have the same two folders specified for scanning in both versions. All dead links have been deleted in both.
MM5 reports 8,059 files and MM4 8,106. What is the likely reason for that difference of 147 files and how best to identify them please?

Removing inaccesible files
In MM5 I found many inaccessible files. The feature 'Locate moved/missing files' is only available on Gold, which prompted me to upgrade. After running this the content remained unchanged. Am I correct that (as its name implies) it only locates the files, not delete them, but then lists them under L...

Re: Monitoring not being followed?
Need to work with MM right now so meanwhile I have used File > Clear Database which is now running. (Looks like it will be a slow process!)
I'd still like to understand what was wrong. I can recover my 'old' DB from my nightly backup to try any solutions offered.
