Re: Popup bubble showing track name at the beginning.

He says "the track bubble" which I would take to be the same thing I'm interested in disabling - well a friend who I installed mediamonkey for was asking me and I didn't have an installation handy to look for myself :-? - the bubble showing track info that pops up next to the clock. It's on a PC ...

Re: Popup bubble showing track name at the beginning.

Thank you!

Sorry I didn't look at the dates on the posts apart from the last couple. There's a few months gap there.

Please be more specific where you can find this information. You just linked to the front page of the FAQ. I searched the FAQ for "popup" and got no results.

I've just done some testing with some more CDs, and I found MediaMonkey to be the thing that was lacking. I have another application for ripping CDs called Audiograbber, it also uses freedb.org to look up titles. It looks them up perfectly every time. Further, it will show you multiple matches for a ...

I thought freeDB is good? They allow you to submit an album if it can't be found.

I've copied lots of new CDs recently and it hasn't missed one yet.

so in other words, the answer to my question is yes, Media Monkey could be categorized Freeware, just as WinAmp is.

I'm still not clear on this. You're saying the free version of WinAmp can be called freeware, but the free version of MediaMonkey cannot?

I'm confused. :-?

Error handling of corrupted files

MediaMonkey seems not to handle files with errors in them very well. Most other sound programs that can open an mp3 will throw up an error if you try to open a corrupt file.

MediaMonkey just crashes completely, the process stops and you have to start the program again.

yeah I went and installed the Vista Transformation pack. Yeah I feel kind of foolish for doing so just to pretti-fy my windows! Turned out to have some useful enhancements though - the taskbar thumbnail preview is quite neat, and the Lclock allowed me to make my clock REALLY BIG and visible without ...

ok sorry about that! I should have read their definitions more carefully. MediaMonkey is Freeware just like WinAmp is. MediaMonkey Gold is obviously not, just like Winamp pro. If you regard them as two seperate programs for the purposes of defining them then you will have less problems! MediaMonkey ...

Wikipedia

Hi, Just noticed that Wikipedia has massive catalogs for Free software that people might want to peruse looking for cool media players... such as Media Monkey. I noticed it wasn't too easy to find Media Monkey anywhere because it's not in very many categories. So, I went to Wiki's entry for Media ...

I'm kind of in the habit of randomizing the playlist and playing with shuffle off anyway, because both Winamp's AND WMP's shuffle function is crap, it constantly repeats certain songs in the playlist before it gets through playing all of them.

I haven't checked out MM's shuffle function yet though.

okay... I was suggesting that it be available by default with mediamonkey, for the sake of user-friendliness. I can tweak it to my heart's content without an extra program using the method outlined in the topic I mentioned , I was thinking more for the average ignorant user, as in the majority, who ...

I noticed another request some time ago for different icons for each type of file. I think maybe this ...
