Re: Multiple Libraries - Portable MM - Batch file

If you're wondering why I didn't use the /INIFILE command-line option, see: ..Bug-Note: Truly portable installation? ....http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=80932&p=408651&hilit=INIFILE#p408651 ..And: trouble-ticket ....http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=12739 I've seen n...

Re: Immediate read - single file

Thanks. I will look at the situation again. The work on edits has taken a back-seat to actually playing the music for a while, so I could easily be out-of-date. (Also, just a bit freaky to see that other post so immediately.)

Multiple Libraries - Portable MM - Batch file

There has been much talk of separate libraries, rather than Collections, in MediaMonkey. MediaMonkey does do Collections -- it doesn't do Libraries. I am not going to re-visit the discussions of pros & cons, here. This isn't about that. This is just a way to set up and work with separate libraries, ...

Re: Immediate read - single file

Also, interestingly, did you read the post immediately prior to this one -- about situations where monitoring is dysfunctional?

Re: Immediate read - single file

Because I bounce all over the place with file edits. I never know what file or group of files I might want to look at. New/incoming files are kept separate from the base set, but the base set always needs lots of work, cleaning up tags and usages.

Re: Immediate read - single file

Yeah, but I don't want to have to edit system options every time I might want to look at a file like this. The "Scan Continuously" option is great for some work, but not for this. I need to be able to look at any file and work with it, regardless of the program settings for other things. And I reall...

Immediate read - single file

With all the attention paid to ID3 tags - different versions in different programs, and all of that (that covers many thousands of hours of discussions, here and elsewhere), I wanted to run some tests. So I open MM and check out how the tags show on a particular file. Then I switch over to MP3tag an...

Re: Problem using skins on MM 4.1.7.1471

Just an FYI -- You don't have to re-download the files, just rename *.zip to *.mmip - the files don't change.
Of course, the outdated browser issue still needs to be addressed.

Re: Truly portable installation?

Gotcha .. I follow up, separately. Here's something that isn't from a script or add-on: The portable installation works, just fine. I changed MediaMonkey.ini to point to my old MM.DB with DBName= under [System], and I didn't have to specify the drive letter. BUT, I tried copying the new MediaMonkey....

Re: Truly portable installation?

Well, I did a full wipe. Unfortunately, I didn't check back here soon enough to pick up what looks like some very useful info from a lot of regulars. So thanks to Lowlander, MMFrLife, and terrypin. I have already saved your pointers for the next go around. I gathered a bit of info that I think might...

SQLiteSafety still around?

I'm surprised not to have found anything newer than some 3 years on this. Is is still an option? For reference, I'm copying in what I found, elsewhere, long ago. I'd appreciate an update, if anyone is still playing with this. It'd be nice to pick up the pace on db-reads. ;[System] ;SQLiteSafety=x ;P...

Re: Truly portable installation?

Yeah, I'd been getting to that point of view myself. I copied out my critical files, and in the middle of a complete wipe for a re-install. Maybe you know: I've looked for anything in the registry I consider a major key, and don't bother with file-association type-things (I'd be days deleting those)...
