Re: MediaMonkey 5 for Debian / Linux

Found another: "DeadBeef"
Strange name and even stranger "design mode", in which you build your very own app layout...
It's quite far from intuitive and easy, but once you're done, DeadBeef might turn out to be the exact MediaMonkey alternative you were looking for.

Re: MediaMonkey 5 for Debian / Linux

I've looked thru some Linux apps now, and despite I couldn't find a full replacement, the following list might bear a somewhat decent alternative for some at least: - Fooyin - Sayonara - Clementine or Strawberry (pretty much the same) - gMusicBrowser (abandoned) - rhythmbox (gMusicBrowser fork ...

Current playlist

Hi, I just noticed that in MM 5.0.0.2338 you can't send/sync your current playlist to a portable device/CDRW ASO any more (as you could in MM4). You'll have to save the playlist first, then navigate to playlists, where you finally find these functions. Also, "Play Now" will erase your current ...

Very tiny feature request

Hi,
I'd like to place one true tiny feature request:
Some link to a library element's physical storage node. Like an entry in the context menu 'show in Windows explorer' or something.
thanks, kr

Re: 2226 - Crash on Scratch

Speaking of CDDB shutting down and using musicbrainz as an alternative...
How 'bout implementing discogs as well? They got nearly everything!

Re: 2226 - Crash on Scratch

In the log CADDD5CB I see that you were using the Freedb protocol, in 2223 we added the 'MusicBrainz' protocol and made it as default as the Freedb is going to shutdown soon. I ripped several CDs and therefore often switched between musicbrainz and CDDB... as mentioned, I tried to switch to solve ...

Re: 2226 - Crash on Scratch

If you can't replicate nor learn what had happened from the supplied logs I rather assume it might have been Windows' fault. Never exactly know what it does since v10.

I reverted back to MM5 2223 yesterday, issue gone.

Nevermind :-)

Re: 2226 - Crash on Scratch

another edit:
It wasn't the scratch.
Retrieving CDDP/Musicbrainz info simply doesn't work at all any more.
And MM5 crashes on every single attempt.

Re: 2226 - Crash on Scratch

Plus, it hurts me to tell, but Windows Media Player ripped the CD with ease :(

2226 - Crash on Scratch

Hello, I'm currently *trying* to rip some CDs using MM5. As 2223 had some troubles doing so already, I thought an update might make sense. Now, 2226 crashes when trying to retrieve data from CDDB for a scratched disk. Actually, it hangs and repeatedly requests the same error report to be sent ...

Re: 2223 - User admission delegation issue || crash on E/A failure

Nah didn't. Actually intended to post the error ID after transmitting the error log - but as already mentioned, the error reporting itself got hung as well. Freshly set up Windows 10 rev. 1909, with a freshly installed MM5 b2223. Should be easy to reproduce - IF you installed current MM release on a ...

2223 - User admission delegation issue || crash on E/A failure

Hi, I encountered an issue with MMs user admission Delegation while trying to rip some CDs. Files were supposed to be copied to a folder granting write access to members of Administrators group only, which I actually am, though. Still, MM could not create any Folder or file. The actual bad thing is ...
