Re: MM 4.0.0.1459 Major issues

I had similar problems. When I upgraded from 3 to 4, MM took over all audio/video file associations without asking, loads of my music didn't show up in the library, the micro-player toolbar wouldn't show up in Windows so if I tried to use the micro-player MM would just disappear, and I had one or tw...

Re: custom column help needed

There's already a preset column for this. Look for "Extension" on the list (it's near the bottom of the list).

Re: Does not clear library

If you want to completely nuke your library and start over, you can manually delete the database if the "Clear Database..." option isn't working. The database is here in XP: - C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MM.DB And here in Vista/Windows 7: - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\A...

Artist tag changed by MM - what could cause this?

I had this album in my MM library: - D.J. Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - And In This Corner... Yesterday, a friend come over and I wanted to play him a track off that album, but when I looked for it in MM I couldn't find it. I browsed to the album on my hard drive and dragged and dropped the folder...

Changing album name tag info messes up the year tag info

I had an album with this name: - The Archive - Live, Lost & Found In MM4 I right-clicked on the album and chose Properties, then I changed the album name to this: - The Archive: Live, Lost & Found But now when I open the MP3s from that album in MP3Tag, the year has changed from "2008" to this: - htt...

Re: Cannot create or upgrade database from 3 to 4

I had all kinds of problems upgrading from the last version of 3 to 4 anyway, so that won't necessarily fix your problems. I hadn't done any kind of tweaking/customising of version 3.2.5.1306 other than removing a couple of toolbars and I did a standard installation of 4, but loads of my music was m...

Re: Sort links in Now Playing

Yep, I can confirm that. The triangle switches between up and down, but no sorting occurs no matter which category you try and sort by. EDIT - In fact, if you click on Artist in Now Playing so that it's sorted Z-A, then you restart MM, you'll find that your main library is actually sorted from Z-A, ...

Re: Cannot create or upgrade database from 3 to 4

If you don't mind nuking your library and starting over, have you tried a completely fresh install? Uninstall MM3, then remove the leftover folders, then install MM4. That fixed all of the issues I had when trying to do a straight upgrade from MM3 to MM4 (which didn't go well at all!).

Re: What does optimize database do?

I don't know exactly what it does, but I just ran it with the following options checked: - Clear Virtual CD entries for missing tracks Clear Preview entries for missing previews Rebuild Full-Text Search index Optimise database (Complete) And with a library of 10,465 audio tracks it took 21 seconds. ...

MM4 losing registration info

I never had this problem with MM3, but in MM4 it seems to occasionally forget my registration info (I paid for a lifetime license). It's just happened again, which is the third time this has happened. Any idea what the cause is?

Re: Play Next default action not working?

I can't offer you a solution, but I can confirm the same issue. If I set the default double-click action to "Play Next", it still does "Play Now" instead, wiping out the playlist from Now Playing.

Re: Caching album art images?

It seems CCleaner may be the cause then, as I have it set to delete temporary files that are older than 24 hours and the "Temporary Files" option in CCleaner affects that folder. I've moved the MM temp folder elsewhere, so hopefully that will cure it. Thanks.

Caching album art images?

Sometimes MM seems to cache album art images, so if I close the program and then open it up again the images are already loaded, but at other times I'll open MM and it's like it's having to reload all of the images from the folder.jpg files in each album folder. This makes scrolling up and down a li...
