Re: At what point does MM4 add info to the database?

Thanks! Will the script in this thread work with MM4?.......... http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18536 So far, I have only tried playing one file that isn't in my library with MM4 and the genre (I deliberately tagged it as "Podcast" to see if it would show up) has not been added ...

This skin is really slick looking, but would it be possible to offer any other colour options? The blue is a bit much for me! :D

At what point does MM4 add info to the database?

I was using MM3 with MonkeyTunes and the Hyperfine remote (Android version). I found that whenever I played a file - even if it was not in my library - it would add the genre embedded into that file's tag to the database, which then meant it showed up in the Hyperfine remote app under "Genre". That ...

Displaying the correct album art in MM4

I had this problem in MM3, but I'm wondering if there's a way to sort it out in MM4. I have a mixtape that has album art for each track embedded into the files: - http://i.imgur.com/qwuiE.jpg Also in the folder is this folder.jpg file: - http://i.imgur.com/2h6BT.jpg MM4 displays the art for the indi...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

It is clear is that you are unwilling to explore MM4 and are not technically proficient enough to understand how it can be easily adapted to taste. It took me all of 30 seconds to look up what collections are in MM4 and to begin to understand how they expand MM4's possibilities. Did you even try lo...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

and every time I tried to use the micro-player, the program just disappeared completely and I had to end the task with Task Manager. I really have no interest in talking about your issues, except the micro-player. With all music players, iTuens, WMP, Winamp, etc, you have to enable the microplayer ...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Besides MediaMonkey isn't ugly (it's all in the eye of the beholder). Hmmmm, it may be in the eye of the beholder, but some beholders seem to have selective blindness. My MM3 installation looked like this: - http://i.imgur.com/bikuB.jpg When I first launched it, I pointed it in the direction of my ...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

And MediaMonkey 4 does asks as well. Nope, it didn't ask me. I'll film a video of the install and post it here if you don't believe me. It doesn't ask during the install. When you first fire it up there is no "shortened version of the options" where it asks you either. It hijacks all associations f...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

It would seem you installed as Portable Install and didn't do an upgrade. Thus your MediaMonkey 3 database isn't used. The box to install as portable was left unchecked. Thanks for the tips on fixing it, but I'm just going to wait until a few versions down the line and then try it again. As for fil...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

There was no prompt to set file associations when running the installer for MM4. When I reinstalled MM3, there was and I could check individual boxes for each file type. As for the other things you mentioned, that leaves me with no incentive at all to upgrade. When I started using MM3 I assumed that...

Access violation when clicking track progress bar

I'm running MM 3.2.5.1306 on Windows 7 Professional. If I'm playing a track and I click the track progress bar to skip to a different part of the track, it works fine unless I click in the last 2% (approximately). If I do that, I get an error message like this every single time: - http://i.imgur.com...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

I installed MM4 today. My first impressions were not good at all. It took over all file associations for audio and video without asking. The user interface is, to be honest, bloody awful - ugly and over-complicated. Also, only about a fifth of the music from my library was showing. I usually browse ...

Re: What kind of user are you?

I consider myself to be a basic user, but that's based on what I actually do with the software rather than what I could do with it and my knowledge of how it works. I only use it as a fairly basic music organiser/player and for that it's close to perfect for my needs. I don't use it to tag files, bu...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

I do tend to agree about the look of MM. I would like it if it looked more modern/polished, although it doesn't look terrible by any means. At the end of the day though, functionality and performance are the main reasons I choose one piece of software over another. A better looking UI would just be ...
