Re: How Do You Remove Disc Number?

If the album has a single disc then having a tag that says disc 1 is redundant information. If the album has several discs then the fact that disc number is not displayed as a header in MM4 is a problem. The addition of this disc number header to MM5 for multiple disc sets (I always delete disc 1 fo...

Go to properties for the tracks and delete it.

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

I don't use Google Play but it appears that the effort at MM5 is to have MM play music that has been uploaded to Google Play's cloud without downloading it to a local disc. My understanding is that Google Play changes all files to MP3 no matter what the source format. I assume MM5 will also play all...

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

Media Monkey 5 is well into a beta phase and I haven't seen any signs of DSD support. In fact, things seem to be going the opposite way with a lot of time being spent on integrating MM with Google Play's MP3 operation.

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

The link in Peke's post seems to be for Ventis people only as it requires a login. In any case, Ventis has been developing version 5 of MM for some time and I see no evidence there that it will play DSD files. Instead I see a great deal of effort being put into adding Google Play's MP3 capabilities ...

Re: MM upgrade now No Sound

Scrolling through the Now Playing list, turning each song title grey, means the track isn't where MM thinks it is. You'll need to Locate moved/missing files (under files). MM will play a track when you click on it outside MM because you have just told MM where the track is.

Re: Switched from Itunes but...

Save yourself much grief and use Auto-Organize Files under Tools to move the files. You will need to use masks to do this properly: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php?title=User_Auto-Organize_File_Masks_Examples. Also save yourself much grief and use Album Artist (which will/should be the sa...

Re: Rebuild album art cache?

You can also toggle the Art & Details window off and on using CRTL+ALT+A. In most skins I think it appears in the lower right corner of the screen. Note that it is not the same as Show Art with Details or Show Art Browser with Details. If no image appears in the window, right click for a menu of cho...

Re: Default display

This is the sequence: 1. Start MM5 2. List view display with column browser hidden (Material Design skin) - Jazz node in media tree 3. Go to Black Monkey skin to retrieve column browser (not able to do this in Material Design) 4. Switch to Classical Music node in media tree - list view and column br...

Default display

I think I remember being able to set the display as List View with Column Browser enabled for a particular node (such as Classical Music) and have that be the "default" display when I return to that node after using another node (such as Jazz, a collection I created). Now in 1274 (and for some previ...

Re: 2147: Column Browser is broken [#15307]

I am using 1247. I normally use the Material Design or Monkey Groove skins and the "hidden" colum browser that Duke found wasn't visible in either of these two skins. But once I activated it in the Black Monkey skin it became available in the two skins I use. It's still something that needs to be ad...

Re: Problem adding new album

There are several ways to look for a "can't find" album that you have just added. I prefer to use Playlists - Recently Added Content and then scroll down to the date you added the tracks. This way you don't need to know - or guess - at any of the parameters, tags, or type of the tracks. If you added...

MP4 or M4P? I ask because you tie it to ALAC, which is an audio format like M4P.

Re: Contributing Artist Search Feature?

You can add contributing artists to a field called Involved People (the field is on the Detauls tab of File Properties. You can select which fields are searched through Tools-Options-Search. I normally have both Artist and Involved People checked for search since I pretty much don't care what role s...

Re: Discogs Tagger 5.63 (Updated: 2018-09-07)

XP uses only TLS 1.0 and that won't work with Discogs which, as noted here, uses 1.2. Since Micrsoft no longer supports XP, your chances of it ever being upgraded to support 1.2 are basically nil. There is a purported workaround at https://sockettools.com/kb/support-for-tls-1-2-on-windows-xp/, but I...
