Re: and where is the option to choose another player?

MM5 finds my two Sonos units but doesn't find my Chromecast Audio or my Chromecast Ultra. roon - which is on the same machine - finds and plays to the two Chromecast units. Why doesn't MM5 find the Chromecasts?

Re: the Now Playing box no longer displays a picture.

I'm guessing that what you are calling the Now Playing box is what MM calls Art & Details (one of the options at the top of this otherwise unlabeled frame is Now Playing). In MM terms the Now Playing box IS a list of tracks to be played. Go to View on the menu and make sure that Art & Details is che...

Re: Recently Added Content

E.g. playlist 'Added 2019-02-15 22:45' should appear higher in the list than 'Added 2018-01-04 21:00'. I don't think this would be possible because the playlist tree is sorted alphabetically and not by date. It isn't even possible to drag the playlists to the order that you want. Do you mean to tel...

Re: Recently Added Content

It's not an autoplaylist in my version (1882) and has not been in any of many previous versions I have used. 1) Autoplaylists have a differently coloured arrow and Recently Added Content has the same colour as ordinary playlists. 2) Right-clicking on it does not bring up the option Edit AutoPlaylist...

Recently Added Content

Is there some reason why this playlist always orders the dates from oldest to newest? Wouldn't be more useful if the dates were ordered newest to oldest? Can't this be fixed?

Re: concatenate titles

Is the album artist the same for all three? Are the disc numbers filled in - correctly? An album is defined by all tracks having the same title and album artist.

Re: RECENTLY ADDED / NEW RELEASES (Album listing)

To me the easiest way to find Recently Added content is to use the playlist cleverly named by the MediaMonkey people as Recently Added Content which I believe comes already installed. (Playlists > Recently Added Content > scroll down to the appropriate date). The only problem I have with this - I us...

Re: How Do You Remove Disc Number?

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Having all the discs in a set appear when I choose one is just what I do want. Many of the muitiple disc sets in my collection have a composition that will not fit on one disc (a number of Mahler symphonies, for example, as well as almost all operas). Until MM5 has a w...

Re: How Do You Remove Disc Number?

If the album has a single disc then having a tag that says disc 1 is redundant information. If the album has several discs then the fact that disc number is not displayed as a header in MM4 is a problem. The addition of this disc number header to MM5 for multiple disc sets (I always delete disc 1 fo...

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

I don't use Google Play but it appears that the effort at MM5 is to have MM play music that has been uploaded to Google Play's cloud without downloading it to a local disc. My understanding is that Google Play changes all files to MP3 no matter what the source format. I assume MM5 will also play all...

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

Media Monkey 5 is well into a beta phase and I haven't seen any signs of DSD support. In fact, things seem to be going the opposite way with a lot of time being spent on integrating MM with Google Play's MP3 operation.

Re: DSD/DSF - Not playback but tag & synch [#11184]

The link in Peke's post seems to be for Ventis people only as it requires a login. In any case, Ventis has been developing version 5 of MM for some time and I see no evidence there that it will play DSD files. Instead I see a great deal of effort being put into adding Google Play's MP3 capabilities ...

Re: MM upgrade now No Sound

Scrolling through the Now Playing list, turning each song title grey, means the track isn't where MM thinks it is. You'll need to Locate moved/missing files (under files). MM will play a track when you click on it outside MM because you have just told MM where the track is.

Re: Switched from Itunes but...

Save yourself much grief and use Auto-Organize Files under Tools to move the files. You will need to use masks to do this properly: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php?title=User_Auto-Organize_File_Masks_Examples. Also save yourself much grief and use Album Artist (which will/should be the sa...
